You know, it's been awhile since I kept tabs on what Vietnamese drawing shows I've been watching so I figured I'd drop by.

I've been watching Blue Seed. This is yet another show I remember seeing my brother watch way WAY back in the day. Rewatching it now, it's a cool show. Essentially, a girl who comes from a blood line that fights ancient beings known as aragami who teams up with a task force to take on these beasts for being a bunch of pricks. Along the way, the show gets an Inuyasha vibe where she teams up with a fellow who develops and uneasy relationship at first but ends up saving the lead heroines ass a lot of the time using his wicked organic armblades. This show has something that I miss in anime; the task force. I mean we used to get shows like Dominion Tank Police, Burn Up W and the like where we see like some sort of police/military force and they have to solve and take on terrorists/supernatural beings/whatever. I always had a thing with shows with this kind of premise and I wish more anime had things like this. Anywho, each episode takes on a different monster (One of which is basically mothra) all the while learning about the other members of the task force. It's a cool set up. I wouldn't say it's the best example of this type of show but still it's a good watch all the same.

For a more recent anime, I'm also checking out Magical Sempai, which chronicles the misadventure of a fellow who reluctantly joins a magic club whose only member is an aspiring magician who suffers from stage fright and sucks total ass when it comes to magic tricks. Eventually they're joined by a chick and her fat brother who has borderline romantic affection for (Only in anime people) who happen to be street performers and the show involves them getting into silly situations, trying to pull off magic stunts that don't work out and in generally curing the magician girl's stage fright. I know some folks aren't huge on slice of life shows but this one is charming. Not to mention each episode is only 12 minutes long so it never gets to the point where it feels like it's dragging. A decent show all around.

It's pretty good. I need to backtrack a few episodes as I lost track. I do feel like rewatching Sword Art Online. I just wish they hadn't fucked up the second season.

Oh yeah, I guess back to the topic, I'm rewatching Outlaw Star. It's a bit like watching it for the first time. Unlike you veterans I never watched the censored show. It's fascinating, like watching it in a parallel universe.
Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!"
    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

I will resist talking about SAO, because I have stated my opinion on how atrocious Elfheim is far far too many times lol.

As for my current stuff, I'm keeping up with:
Fruits Basket: Still really liking this. Makes me want to watch the original to compare. I do with a few characters got more time than just a single episode. Hiro is is an adorably snarky little ass hole, and I love him. He needs more screen time.
Demon Slayer: Kimestu no Yaiba. The story and characters are generic(aside from Nezuko) but my God the animation is gorgeous. The fight scene in episode 19 is breathtaking. One of the best fight scenes I've seen in a shoenen in a long long time. And the way they portray Nezuko is lovely. She's muzzled for spoilery reasons, so they have to convey her emotions and thoughts through expressions, and they do that really well. For their first foray into Shoenen, UFOTable is doing a phenomenal job. Highly recommend this if you're into shoenen.
Given. I LOVE this anime. It's a BL (boys love) anime, which i was unaware of when I started watching, and it's the first of its kind I've ever watched.. It treats the "crush" Uenoyama has on Mafuyu like it's normal, and doesn't do what most of these anime/manga do, and make one of the characters super aggressive. It's just a boy confused and worried about the stigma of having a gay crush.
He's wary of sharing his feelings because spoiler spoiler spoiler, but I know he will eventually will confess (the anime isn't there yet).
I love he way they represent how teenagers deal with love, and it doesn't make a super huge deal about it being a gay relationship.

I'll have to rewatch some old Chinese cartoons. Maybe Akira.
"It turned out that the ghost was just Mr. Finley, who ran the amusement park. The spooky part is that, as soon as the ghost appeared, the teenagers' dog began to speak! And it spoke in a tortured parody of human speech: 'relp me, Raggy,' it would say. 'I am an abomination and rould re rilled. Rill re, Raggy.'"

Yeah, so it turns out Akira is still damn good and a visual treat.

    1988, you fucking heathens.

Been watching Bible Black & Takunomi.

Takunomi is an anime about 4 girls drinking alcohol at home and that's it. It's probably going to resonate rather well with the folks around this forum.

given finished a while ago, and I absolutely loved it. The anime ended alright, but I was a bit disappointed. Until I found out its getting a film in 2020. Hooray! I am keeping an eagle eye out for it, so I can get off of work to go see it if it comes to a theater near me (Rascal Does Not Dream of Dreaming Girl was in a local theatre, and I couldn't get off work any of the days it was here. :'(.

As for new stuff, I'm a bit light right now. I'm currently just watching Ahiru no Sora, a basketball anime, because...well...look at my avatar. I'm a sucker for sports anime.
And I quite like it. I'm excited to see how this group of mostly delinquents turns out.
Then there's Stars Align, about a a middle school Soft Tennis team. The characters are cute, the animation is decent, but that's not why I really like this anime.
    I like it because
Its trying to tackle child abuse, and it's doing a darn good job so far. Touma, one of the MCs has an abusive father who has, in only 2 appearances: kicked his son,
punched him in the face, stolen money, and broken his tennis racket, threatening him to get money the next day. So...yeah, fuck him with a cactus draped in ghost pepper juice.
But, as bad as it sounds, this is the most interesting part of the anime. The tension you feel when the dad is on screen is immense. You can feel Touma's fear. Its impressively well done, and considering dad of the year is the thumb nail of episode 5...I doubt good things will happen
