Outlaw Star, if you can believe it. My first was Dragon Ball which remained my favourite throughout my teen years. Then it was Rurouni Kenshin which lasted a few years until I stumbled upon OS earlier this year, which almost instantly became my new favourite anime. It just hit every note right with me and I love everything about it.

    ooo, but the RK tho...

Always loved that show, and I read all the manga as they released it in the US.
It was my monthly friend throughout jr high & high school... good times.

In the past year I'd definitely have to say Parasyte The Maxim even though it was based on an 80-90's manga. Seeing it animated was pretty cool & the fight scenes were sick to look at

    Folks, just came across this:
    Gugure! Kokkuri-san

Kohina Ichimatsu, the self-proclaimed doll, called out the fox ghost Kokkuri-san with a suspicious incantation! But it was a story of the past where Kokkuri-san was able to answer any question you had. Nowadays, it relies on a certain search engine, but is actually bad at anything digital. He was going to possess Kohina, but got worried about her living all alone and devotes himself to do chores as if he was her mother. On top of that, the dog ghost Inugami who is infatuated with Kohina and the old good-for-nothing supernatural raccoon dog Shigaraki decide to root themselves with her as well!
    (Source: Crunchyroll)

The humor in this show is quite refreshing.
    the lolz

Every character is an actual character, every joke carries a weight beyond the single quip, and it actually feels like there's a point here.
(unlike some other shows I've recently watched...)
It's rare to see a comedy anime transcend the language barrier, and while admittedly there's still an issue there, this show is genuinely funny and uncompromising.
    Lovin' it.

    I loved Kokkuri-san! I love Kohina's attempts at smiling. It's a great running gag!

In terms of anime still stuck in my head, it's been about a week or so and my brain is still is Log Horizon. It was a really interesting twist on getting stuck in a game, and the characters intrigue me. There were lots of serious points as well as comedic, and it makes you think about all sorts of aspects of gaming and even game design that others in the genre don't usually do.

Also the music is great (although I'm not as keen to the opening, it's fitting). And so is the animation, though it can vary between high and low quality for gags.

No matter how many anime I watch, Clannad and AS are still my favorite anime. They're such amazing anime, and have such a fantastic way of telling a compelling story.
Though Bungo Stray Dogs is by far the best of the season. It's a perfect blend of dark and light. And the characters are great.

So far, the anime I've been watching recently (it's a newer one) is trying to get into my top however many. Classicaloid is epic in terms of insanity and a great rocky twist on classical music. Also I hear eventually we'll get giant robots and falling stars.

Seriously though, Motzart is a perverted nutjob in this. Then again...*looks at Beethoven* He's not any saner.

One of the shows I've recently been watching is Konosuba. It's a really entertaining show where everything just seems to crap on the lead characters. I just caught up with the 2 episodes of the 2nd season and it's been great.

Barakamon inspires my artistic side while at the same time being an all time great comedy. Love everything about that anime.

Space Dandy is only a tad bit behind due to having less sentimental value. It's one of the most innovative anime ever and uses the setting of Space as an excuse to cram a billion ideas into 26 episodes. Probably the most fun I've ever had watching anime.
