    RE: HOTD: Plot vs. Fanservice

Right now I haven't heard anything about a season 2 of HOTD. Then again, the manga been on hiatus since January 2011 and I'm not sure if they have enough material to do another season without fillers.

    RE: HOTD: Plot vs. Fanservice

Well, they already did filler with the OVA, so if they had a season 2 with filler, I would rage-quit faster than I did with Naruto and Bleach.

Not a fan of those two. Yeah, I said it.
A boy has the right to dream. There are endless possibilities stretched out before him. What awaits him down the path he will then have to choose; the boy doesn't always know. At some point the boy then becomes an adult, and learns what he was able to become. Joy and sadness will forever accompany this. He is confronted with a choice; when this happens, does he bid his past farewell in his heart? Once a boy becomes an adult, he can no longer go back to being a boy; the boy is now a man. Only one thing can be said: "A boy has the right to dream.". For those endless possibilities are stretched out before him.

I called it quits on Naruto a real long time ago and I just got there with Bleach. Putting a filler arc in the middle of another arc (Fake Karakura Town arc into Zanpakut? Unknown Tales arc) the is so sideways they most have had a brain fart of epic proportions.

Oh, thank god. This forum's community just keeps getting better and better. Hah hah.

But yeah, one of my friends shares the same sentiments as I do about Bleach, but he's still reading the manga. I'm surprised he's still alive...

Alright, let me ask you all this: if the plot was anything besides surviving a zombie apocalypse, would your opinion about the anime change at all?

I think it wouldnt. It would still be more fan service than anything. Change the sizes and the outfits, then we'll talk

    RE: HOTD: Plot vs. Fanservice

I think it would have become a slice of life/high school drama with fan-service. I'd even say a love triangle between Takashi, Hisashi and Rei with Saeko getting into the mix later on. As for Saya and Kohta as support characters with a developing romance/friendship. Shizuka would be advise giving sage-like person (though kinda hard to believe, but who knows) and Alice as someone's neighbor whom everybody spill their emotional guts too. I'd for filler parts they'll go into Shizuka and Rika's relationship (I think there is more than Shizuka letting on or willing to admit).

As for bust size, yes; I think they need to be more "normal" size and not watermelons stuck in a really tight shirts. For the outfits there is nothing wrong with them other than the lack there of.

Don't ask how, but I think I turned HOTD into Peach Girl with some adult themes.

(I thought Peach Girl was okay...)

This sounds like an anime that would probably have less potential of going mainstream, which is fine, but it also sounds like one that has a significantly better theme; if the genre is anything but high school drama when the characters are dressed in high school clothing, something's wrong . It would be cool if they went philosophical like in Haruhi Suzumiya or add in some action events due to the fact that HALF of the characters take some form of martial art. But I do find some interest in the relationship setup; the less stressful plot would allow for much better character development (something I wish anime did more often in general ). I would be especially interested about Shizuka and Rika because their backgrounds were barely touched on and left highly open-ended.

It would seem that these changes would have shifted HOTD into more of a shoujo-ai, but it would be a much better anime as a whole, in my opinion.
