Minor correction aside, this is a legitimate complaint that I share. The whole 'Legendary Super Saiyan' myth that we'd been hearing about through most of the Namek/Frieza arc became nothing but a cheap 'battle mode' for any remotely-Saiyan character. And then there's...

Especially this. As much as I love DBZ, I'm more than willing to point out some horrible flaws in the predictable way each arc closed. The closest we ever got to having a supporting character as anything close to a deciding factor during a later arc was Vegeta, distracting Cell by lobbing a load of Ki at the back of his head (which was all of what, 15 seconds?). Then we all know how Gohan finds the power to win the day... Goku tells him what to do.

Alright, so Vegeta also went in as a distraction (and got the absolute shit kicked out of him by Kid Buu) while Goku generated that Spirit Bomb, but that's the point -- Goku still saved the day. AGAIN.

And it spoke in a tortured parody of human speech: 'relp me, Raggy,' it would say. 'I am an abomination and rould re rilled. Rill re, Raggy.'"

The argument regarding only the main character can defeat the main villain holds up in Hellsing as well.

Alucard kills most of Millenium and anyone else that turns up (Look at the last few episodes as he does it quite literally) with Seras, Integra and Pip all doing next to naught until he appears / arrives / gets bored.

I feel all of you on the main protagonist always getting that final say so, whether it's beating the crap out of someone, killing them, etc. It always seems to be like the supporting characters are completely powerless sometimes. I hate that, I don't like series that just do that. Because what everyone on here has been saying is right, it gives us no excitement or throws no loop into the plot. What we think is going to happen will happen and that's disheartening.

If you are going to make the lead characters ALWAYS win the biggest fights, don't have supporting characters, kill them all off. No point in having them if they serve no purpose.
