Watch Iron Man. Now. It's good, and in all honesty I much preferred it to its 'main' competitor that year, The Dark Knight.

    Anyway:
    The Others (2001)

When I saw this on release, it was some seriously creepy shit.

Of course, after several viewings the 'chill' is removed (like with pretty much every other sort of horror out there), along with the sense of being 'new' (or at least different) now that psych-horror is a bit more common/popular these days, but it's still good. Better than 'Paranormal Activity', that's for sure.

But then so is crapping through someone's letterbox.

Roger Ebert didn't like it, but then he's a fat-headed **** anyway with a tendency to bash an-... well I'm getting off-track. But all the same, forget Ebert. He's up himself.

@Penguin: Your son has excellent taste.

    Monsters (2010)

    Pretty sweet movie.
    Expected more alien action though.

    Tales From The Crypt (1972)

I can feel myself dozing off already...

I wasn't expecting much from this one, and to be honest even then it failed to really deliver anything to meet 'average' expectations. Has not aged well at all, really, largely due to the fact that all these tales have been recycled various times so there's no real shock or... well I can't say scare-value because this is anything but scary. It has a 89% 'Fresh' rating though, so maybe I'm missing something. Maybe I was half-asleep. It's not 'shit', but don't expect to see some grand, head-spinning filmwork. What it does is done well enough to move things along, but that's not really saying much.

Oh **** off you, you're about as frightening as 'Scary Movie'.
