WHO ARE CALLING A ANIMAL! *grips Genes cloak with a evil glare* ~ Aisha - Eps Beast Girl ready to pounce.

(Aisha Clan Clan) I've never seen a ship like this before. It's far behind any C'tarl-C'tarl ship. It won't move unless you're naked! That's very kinky, wouldn't you say?

Hmmm.... Looked it up sounds interesting, and it has a ton of good ratings. So when you say "you call this a anime?" Does it mean that its one of those naughty-er shows. Or it just doesn't have that anime feel?

RE: What film have you just watched?

Well, today I watched The Beach, a film I haven't seen in about a decade. It's very much an underrated film. Its main character, Richard, is played by Leonardo DiCaprio. Despite a couple of silly parts near the end, I thoroughly enjoyed watching it again. Trailer:

Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!"
    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

RE: What film have you just watched?

I watched 3 movies recently and on average they were good. I'll list them here from lowest score to highest, with a short review for each. Some of you may love "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time", but understand that I'm kinda biased towards the Kung-Fu flick, as good as the Anime movie was.

    Bicycle Sighs (1991)

Well, I don't really know what to say about this movie. for the greater part of it, I was lost. "Am I missing something?, Is this some avant-garde masterpiece that I just don't get?" Suffice to say, it was pretty confusing. It's basically about a couple of guys who survive by delivering newspapers. One of them want's to get into university, and the other want's to finish a film they had started in high school. the idea for their film was pretty awesome, but it didn't play as much of a role as it should have. the latter part of the movie saw the characters acting like they took a whole bunch of LSD and was just very hard to get my head around. I may have to watch this movie again to see if pick up anything new from it Just because I like the idea, and the first part of the movie was pretty good, I have to give it a 6/10

The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006)

This was a very warm, lovely movie. Just as you'd expect a story about a teenage girl who learns she can travel through time to be. The best thing about this movie is definitely the protagonist, Makoto. She's an awkward kind of tomboy, and you really get to feel for her. It's a very Ghibli-esque kind of movie, with it's lighter tone and especially with the artwork. The events up until the final act are exactly what you'd expect them to be, having fun with time travel, and correcting mistakes with time travel. It does get pretty emotional from there on though. The chances are that if any of you reading this decide to watch one of these movies, it will probably be this one, so I don't want to spoil it. It has a fairly good plot twist, that I really didn't see coming. I kind of wanted just a little more out of the ending, but still, a very good movie. I give it 8/10

    Executioners From Shaolin (1977)

This could be mistaken for any regular run of the mill Kung-Fu movie, but it's so much more. It does follow the tried and tested "Avenge dead master" storyline, but rather than it all just happening in a blur of kicks and punches, the movie takes place over a span of around 18 years, showing the growth and training of Hung Hsi Kuan, and his seemingly inept son, Hung Wen-Ding. Also, surprisingly, our protagonist actually fails to avenge his dead master. twice. Instead, it is up to his son, who had learned a combination of Tiger and Crane style Kung-Fu (his father and mothers styles, respectively). I really liked the characters in this movie and I believe it is one of the better Kung-Fu flicks to come out of an era that gave us so much cheap garbage. If anything could be helped, I'd say it would be the pacing. several years pass from one scene to another without any kind of warning. I give it a solid 8.5/10

Just watched a fun flick with the friends,
in lieu of studying of course.
I'd recommend it to anyone in the mood for a freaky treat.

RE: What film have you just watched?

After watching several Shitcase Cinema videos, I found myself digging through my dusty collection of VHS recordings and other Olde-Worlde Media. From this collection, I last saw 'House On Haunted Hill' (1999), a mediocre 'horror' film remake which ends up being funnier than probably intended, and not really scary at all.

Yes, that is Sonya Blade at the front, there.

It's not unwatchable, but it is pretty brainless and only serves as a 'popcorn movie'. Characters are about as deep as a frying pan, with a very basic story... which is all well and fine, given the genre. As you'd expect from such a horror, it does like the gore and is relatively happy with the oh-so naughty words.

To its credit, it does have one of the strangest scenes ever, too.

The ending is a ****ing cop-out though.
"It turned out that the ghost was just Mr. Finley, who ran the amusement park. The spooky part is that, as soon as the ghost appeared, the teenagers' dog began to speak! And it spoke in a tortured parody of human speech: 'relp me, Raggy,' it would say. 'I am an abomination and rould re rilled. Rill re, Raggy.'"

RE: What film have you just watched?

I might check that one out Baron.
Horror movies do freak me out, for I am not a veteran.
But that does sound like a good guys night movie.

One more for the recent viewings.
Check this one out before it leaves the theaters.
    Quite an enjoyable cinematic experience.
However, there could have been more wolf-punching.

For the more artsy crowd, perfect.
For the rest of us, more action needed.
That said, it is accessible and worth a go.

    That's unfortunate.
It really deserves the large venue.
Lots of grandiose scenes to enjoy.

RE: What film have you just watched?

I recently watched a film called Seeking Justice. For some reason, in the loosest sense it reminded me of Alan Wake. I'm not sure why.

It has received particularly low ratings from critics, although that said, I usually add 20% onto the average ratings on sites like Rotten Tomatoes since the critics are often a bunch of miserable bastards. The film was far from amazing, but it definitely had an interesting enough plot to keep me occupied. In short, the lead protagonist's (forgot the name, but played by Cage) girlfriend is raped and nearly killed. He gets involved with an organisation whose members had seemingly gone through similar experiences, and so to speak, they helped him out. Things start to go rather pear-shaped, however. Not the best synopsis, but I tend to keep spoilers to a minimum.

Whilst not great, it was a little entertaining and I have no regrets from watching it.
