Skies of Arcadia is one of Sega's best. Why Sega hasn't ported it to modern platforms is beyond me, especially with the slew of classic JRPGs that have been ported over the past few years. SoA is yet another JRPG cash cow. I'm sure that it would make far more than the cost to port it.

Yeah i heard about those modders they willl do a good job I bet. I only ever played Grandia 2 for Dreamcast but it was a good game. I might get this but I aslo nver got a chance to play Skies of Arcadia heard it was a good game too. You ever played that?

Yeah SoA is great! Just played and finished it for the first time this year! It's slow as hell at points but it's not fair to compare it to modern games' quality of life enhancements. Plus, i play older games for that jank anyway, if it was like newer stuff it wouldn't be retro.

I have that FF8 guide as well! The BradyGames one, i assume? I used to bring it to school with me to read. My wife is using it at the moment on her playthrough, David Cassidy is my favorite strategy guide author to this day from his work on the FF games and a few other JRPGs.

To answer Mantis' question as to why it hasn't been ported/remastered/HD'd/etc. There IS a definitive answer! The director doesn't want it to be. He says that the original was pretty good, and the GameCube version a few years later WAS the definitive edition. He says it can't be improved upon and since the GC version perfectly meets his vision of what he set out to create, he doesn't want it changed or re-released ever again.
