Skatetro: Hmm, very nice edits. In my opinion, overall the first one is best. It most prominently shows that middle fringe and if you search on Google Images (which I imagine you have) you'll see that it most closely matches this. The third one's a nice attempt, but I know full well that messy hair will inevitably result in jaggies that may not look as good as intended. The new skin tone is perfect. My only other suggestion at this point is to desaturate the hair very slightly. While the violet hue helps with the contrast, I think it's a bit over-the-top, but only slightly.

Wow, great job with these. And I agree that rambling is well suited to Gwen, and the thinking too! I'm really impressed. My only suggestion at this point is to darken and saturate the hair, but only extremely subtly, since his hair is naturally bright anyway. Don't just take my word for it though. Let's see what others think about that.

Thanks for your feedback on the Gilliam images. Anybody else have anything to add? Also, Crackerjack is a funny idea, but I think having a large column of him on each forum index would look a little out of place and look like a group of thieves is stealing the forum! But then, I haven't thought of Crackerjack as a smiley. This must be done in the future. Mantis adds to to-do list.

Being honest, the thinking one looks like he's inadvertently giving me the finger (here, the middle finger sticking out/up means eff you). and the hue looks good, Skate!

I think you've hit the nail on the head, Skatetro. And I agree that the bottom ones are easier to see. So if you're happy with them, PM me a zip with all the images and I'll add them to the smiley list!

Wow, the Gilliam and Khan spites are incredible! Excellent work, they really look like professional sprites.

Thanks for the reply, since I've been meaning to do a smiley update but have just been sidetracked. If I get to work on it when first possible, hopefully we'll see Fred and Gwen (if Hari okays adding his Gwen sprites) smilies and the Gilliam icons on the forum in the week.

I just look forward to working on Jim. Perhaps I should give him a slightly smaller head shape to Gene, but otherwise I should base him off Gene's look, with slightly bigger eyes if possible. It can be really difficult to get detail right with pixel art.
