Welll... I might be in some trouble. Remember how I talked about my problems with my energy supplier over the past couple of years? If not, it's been very frustrating when I started getting billed crazy amounts of money which I wasn't aware of until my energy account was in debt by close to 7000, which is over $9000. (Pun unintended... ) The energy company doesn't care much. They asked for meter photos but didn't help. I admit I should have been recording my own constant readings. I should have been recording the evidence but I haven't. I still intend to record as much as I can over the coming weeks if I don't get slammed with a crazy charge again. Since August last year they've frozen that huge amount but I don't know when they'll act.

I contacted the ombudsmen about this, which is a group of people who are supposed to resolve this matter. My hope was to have those charges waived and have a new meter installed. Turns out I didn't do my full homework and they reportedly nearly always side with the suppliers. They offered me a paltry 50 and a letter of apology from my supplier, yet with no resolution to remove those charges. I refused this and apparently this was a bad thing to do as it gives them more rights to take their own legal action. Regardless of whether I recorded readings myself it should be obvious to anybody that this is ludicrous. To put things into perspective, somebody I asked on an advice board about this said he does more than I do (when I explained I use my PC and watch TV daily and don't even use an oven), lives with other people and said his power usage for about three years was less than my claimed power for one month! He even asked if I run a cannabis factory. I'm collecting all the data I can now, but if I get fully charged for this... fuck knows.

It's just a power game to these companies. (Okay, that was bad.) I'm preparing myself for a week (or much longer) of headaches, but I'll keep you guys posted nonetheless!

Holy moses. Isn't there a way where you can pay it back in monthly installments? I hope this doesn't land you into too much legal trouble and you two can come into an agreement. If they are as corporate as you say they are, then it sounds like it's going to be a rocky ride.

Fortunately I was able to settle with the energy company. They say they got the day/night readings muddled up. However, they do think I used more than 62 per month while with them. I don't think it would be much more, so for the most part I disagree. But I could do without anymore hassle, so I agreed to pay off the 500~ remaining in my account over the next couple of years. Now I really want a smart meter so there won't be another fuck-up like this. They have an app, so being able to manage everything with my phone will be far better. It's about time technology moved forward on the energy front rather than having to squeeze into shitty tight spaces and use a tiny LCD display to get readings.

So that's that. Lately I've been working on the new Outlaw Star website. I also need to get more things scanned. Good times.

Gross! If you do figure it out and it's all settled, i'd send ombudsmen a legit looking 7000 bill from the power company to see how they like it. xD. but, seriously, i do hope you get it figured out

I'm looking forward to the recent Game of Thrones episode I'll watch tonight. It's been a good season so far.

Done with Facebook? Well, don't feel bad because Facebook forced me not to come back after they locked me out of my accounts after a couple of wrong password attempts. Work been overwhelming these past couple weeks and won't die down until September. Can't wait for GoT this Sunday and hoping we might see a dragon fight the Lannisters forces. Little fingers crossed.
