Thread: Random thoughts of mine..

Apparently a vaccine will start being rolled out in a week here, but start is the keyword. I think it'll be a very drawn-out process. I imagine those at risk will be prioritised but it could take a year to reach everyone. It's all a real shame. Technically last month COVID-19 had its first anniversary, but in terms of it affecting the world it's not far off a year. Around four billion people have been in some form of lockdown. According to a rough calculation that will be over 35,060,000,000,000 (apparently reads as "thirty-five trillion sixty billion", an absurdly large number) human hours affected by this ordeal... and I'm just counting the first year!

Holy crap. I know I have seen the fall of many small businesses in my own area from it all. My own father was left without a job and still not working, he is a chef. He got forced into early retirement and with my parent's debt, they are barely making ends meet.

In the US they printed nearly 25% of all the USD in the country just in this year which is going to be very bad for years to come. The USD will drop in value and a lot of people are going to be screwed over when it comes to their savings and retirement places.

I try not to worry about the future since worrying makes my anxiety worse, but it is hard not to seeing all this stuff.

China should have been held more accountable. They lied for months and their labs are behind it.

Yeah, I think Boris said the other day that even for vulnerable people it will take months before they are all able to be vaccinated.

Here in Mexico, they're also making preparations to deliver the vaccine to people shortly. I'm glad it's the Pfizer vaccine like the UK, as it will be the same one my friends and family back home are getting and this gives me greater comfort about it all. I'm not an anti-vaxer, but I am a little cautious about how fast these vaccines came about, even with the increased dedication involved to make them.

I'm also on the cautious side. I'd probably be considered vulnerable as my immune system isn't so great. I want to see what it does to others beforehand.

I have allergies, so I am not getting this thing. If they want to force it on me, they will have to kill me first.... Which will ultimately defeat the purpose. I just don't trust rushed science because rushed science tends to be bad science.

There is so much floating around right now that makes it seem so sketchy. Apparently, they are also using placebos on people and the doctors don't know which are real and which are fake. Like, why not just use the virus like any other flu vaccine? Why are they needing to manipulate cells and "train" the body to attack something? Seems weird.
