I always play the good character, As Kokirininja, I feel terrible and I think it's morally wrong.

Well, usually play the good character aswell, but sometimes I tend..to ''lose focus'', and by ''lose focus'' I mean ''murder everything that moves''.

For games like Skyrim, the REAL reason I don't go round killing named civilians, is because I don't want to lose the possibility of a side quest or event that may come from that character, in the future.

    Common sense, really.

I've just remembered something that sent me into hysterics, and it was a friend's refusal to play a certain mission in C&C: RA (more specifically, The Aftermath mission "Grunyev Revolution", for the Soviets). He took one look at the briefing...

    Code:
Citizens within the Grunyev province have been speaking out against Soviet involvement in Western Europe. Silence them.

Take a force into the area and eliminate any dissidents. We have received reports that the civilians may be armed, but against the might of the Soviet Empire, no force they can muster will protect them.

See to it that they serve as an example to others. Eliminate them all -- men, women and children.
...and said something along the lines of, "I'm not playing this, that's horrible".

    I absolutely wept with laughter.
"It turned out that the ghost was just Mr. Finley, who ran the amusement park. The spooky part is that, as soon as the ghost appeared, the teenagers' dog began to speak! And it spoke in a tortured parody of human speech: 'relp me, Raggy,' it would say. 'I am an abomination and rould re rilled. Rill re, Raggy.'"

Baron, that reminds me of the controversial airport mission from CoD.

Also, it will be interesting to see if GTA ever adds in a true moral system as that would drastically change the game aka "accidentally" running over civilians and whatnot...

Dang Ninja, that would change the game quite a bit for me.
It's just too fun to mow them down.

But I do agree with Kokiri said earlier.
Whenever I play KOTOR I just can't for the life of me do half the evil things.
Just too over the top at times. :S
Makes me feel responsible for these little units of code.

I usually play ruthless, not necessarily evil--like I'm not intentionally an asshole "just because", but I like my character to be a bit of a selfish hardass.
