    RE: Pokemon Yellow: Nuzlocke Challenge

-Ran to the Pokemart and got some items, sans Repel of course. Here's my team after evolving Lloyd and before fighting Ron again. Dao gained a level and learned Supersonic; I decided to get rid of Poisonpowder because I don't find Poison to be as applicable as Sleep and nowhere near as useful as Paralysis. Plus, Confusion can stack with another ailment, so why not?
-Ron wasn't too bad. Spearow nearly got one-shotted by RTSender and his Thundershock. Switched in Lloyd to take on Ron's Sandshrew and Rattata. However, I SORELY underestimated Ron's Rattata because it knew Hyper Fang. Thank God I got Leech Seed up to prevent Lloyd from dying...Oh, and Eevee went down no problem with B.Penguin's Double Kick.
-Nugget Bridge was really easy. Even the Rocket who gave me the Nugget at the end.
-Oh, jeez. The words coming out of this guy's mouth are ridiculous. This reminds me of that one episode of the Pokemon anime where this Damien guy keeps saying that he stranded his Charmander out on the rain like it was no big deal. At least Damien had some sort of confidence and attitude, but in the game, it's like he knows he's a failure at everything he does and serves his Charmander to you on a silver platter. I mean, I'll take it off your hands bro, but...jeez. This Charmander will be very useful for a physical/special attacker, so he'll be a mainstay in the party. As such, I named it Mantis.
-Caught an Oddish on Route 24. I was hoping for a Bellsprout though due to a much better moveset in my opinion, but whatever. Named it Ted.

A boy has the right to dream. There are endless possibilities stretched out before him. What awaits him down the path he will then have to choose; the boy doesn't always know. At some point the boy then becomes an adult, and learns what he was able to become. Joy and sadness will forever accompany this. He is confronted with a choice; when this happens, does he bid his past farewell in his heart? Once a boy becomes an adult, he can no longer go back to being a boy; the boy is now a man. Only one thing can be said: "A boy has the right to dream.". For those endless possibilities are stretched out before him.

We must remember...all men were once boys.

-Trained Mantis up to level 17. Can I just say right now that the battle view of Charmeleon in this game looks so stupid?!?
-I mean...look at it! Sigh...but I DID catch a Bellsprout here on Route 25. (EDITOR'S NOTE: I totally forgot that getting Charmander on Route 24 counted as a catch. So I'll have to release Ted the Oddish. Oops. :S) Named the Bellsprout Madmanmark.
-See ya, Ted. We hardly knew you...
-Here's the group after visiting Bill. Looking pretty strong with good type coverage for this point on the game. If you're wondering where Kokininja and Madmanmark went, I boxed them for now.
-The Rocket with Dig gave Mantis a bit of trouble with his Drowzee. Other than that, simple fight with a big reward. I'm going to save Dig for later, though; for some reason, B.Penguin can't learn it.

    RE: Pokemon Yellow: Nuzlocke Challenge

This is an interesting LP, keep it up. Whilst nobody has sextuple-posted before (I think Grimm did a quintuple), I'll let it slide since I never properly explained rules regarding this. Unfortunately I don't presently have much time to engage in this, but I'll give it a good read when I next get the opportunity.

The perfect Pokémon for me would have been a Scyther: a mantis Pokémon. But what the hey, Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard works for me too. As for posts in general, I usually disapprove of double-posting, but it is acceptable in threads that would usually need it from time to time. I don't set any restrictions for posts in Inn Toward the Stars for obvious reasons; it's a journal forum. But in this sub-forum in future please try and not go beyond double-posting. It helps the issue of thread inflation which is what made me decide to remove the forum from statistics, and also encourages more interaction in LP threads. Thanks.
Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!"
    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

    RE: Pokemon Yellow: Nuzlocke Challenge

(Thanks for the reply, Mantis. I'll be sure to condense my posts to fit more material...and I'll try my best to prevent your Pokemon from dying. )

-Well, after beating the Rocket with Dig, I captured an overdue Rattata on Route 5. Sigh...I was hoping for something OTHER than a Rattata, but it may come into play later on if I get unlucky. Named it Katey.
-Watch out for the second Bug Catcher on Route 6; he manages to have a Butterfree. Take it out quickly, because Mantis got poisoned. Good thing I have a decent supply of Antidotes...
-There's the "haxxed Raticate" I was talking about!
    - Today, I found an Abra on Route 6. Everything was going fine when I put it to sleep, but I had this stupid thought in my head: I can catch an Abra at full strength with a Great Ball! Well, I tried that and it didn't work, so I used my last Poke Ball. Didn't work. So now I'm out of Pokeballs, and the next turn Abra woke up and Teleported away. FML.
-Did some errand running in Vermilion: bought some items, got the Old Rod (which I won't be using here, by the way), and got the Bike Voucher from the Fan Club guy. Walked back to Cerulean to get the Bike. Sweeet.
