RE: What is your favorite band/genre?

I like a lot of music, but if we're talking genres that are typically played in a band, then my favorite is by far Punk Rock. The DIY ethic of the genre is very appealing to me, and I definitely looks towards it's sensibilities when creating my own music, whether it be Electronic, Hip-Hop or indeed Punk Rock.

The Distillers are one of my favorite bands. I'm in love with the lead singer, Brody Dalle. Strong Woman. I wanted to post "Dismantle Me", but a proper version of the song doesn't seem to be available on Youtube. In any case, "Drain The Blood" is probably their most popular song, and with good reason.

Here's some Classic British stuff. This song reflects the struggles of living in Brixton during the 70's. Brixton has a lot of black Caribbean families, and it is reflected in this song by the incorporation of reggae stylings. The Clash is definitely in the top 5 punk bands of all time, along with obvious candidates like The Sex Pistols and The Damned etc.

As for the songs, well I have multiple favorites including but not limited to:

Title; A Whisper of the Flower Field
    Artist; Kenji Kawai
Album; Vampire Princess Miyu TV OST

We're in the same boat. Probably about 95% of the music I listen to is soundtrack music. Most people don't seem to understand it, really. I guess I just love to immerse myself in stories and, similar to what you said, the soundtracks make you think of the best parts of the experience.

Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

RE: What is your favorite band/genre?

@Lloyd, The Distillers are pretty BA
@Majin, Cowboy Bebop does take the cake when it comes to the OST department. I remember the one episode with the trucker who listens to wanna-be Iron Maiden music that's blowing up on the speakers. Plus Metallica is good as well.

Another one of my favorite bands:

RE: What is your favorite band/genre?

@ Gene: I used to bump Alkaline Trio all the time. Especially "Armageddon".
    @ Majin: Wu-Tang Clan ain't nothin' to f*ck with!

Adding to my own favorites now, here is a song from The Red Hot Chili Peppers, one of my all time favorites. Definitely in my top 3. I could have posted a dozen of their songs here, it was that hard to choose. I think this one gets to me just a little more than the rest, though. Get's me teary eyed sometimes.

Go for it, but be warned, you may need to be willing to dish out around $50 for that vinyl alone. I got "From Here To Infirmary"; "Good Mourning" ; Alkaline Trio (Self Titles); "Agony & irony"; "Damnesia"; "This Addiction" just from Alkaline Trio alone, still soo many more to collect!

My favourite banned is He-... oh, right. Band.

Probably Nirvana, although I don't really have a 'favourite' as such. I've just listened to them the most.

And it spoke in a tortured parody of human speech: 'relp me, Raggy,' it would say. 'I am an abomination and rould re rilled. Rill re, Raggy.'"
