Since the last time I posted in this thread, I abandoned Winamp, for the first time in almost 10 years, due to an installation problem that I couldn't be bothered to find the solution to. For a while I just used Windows Media Player, if I needed to listen to a random audio file, since I didn't really have any playlists or anything anyway. Recently I went back to Winamp, thanks to Mantis telling me about the DFX Plugin, and also, me remembering about Shoutcast.
(little late but...)
I have to go with iTunes, mainly because I use my fair share of Apple products.
...to me, they just seem so futuristic![]()

If by futuristic, you mean repackaging ideas and concepts from 10 years ago, and sticking a fancy label on it, then sure.

Off-topic reply: I think some Android phones and tablets are starting to win in the style department. The iPhone/iPad isn't as thin as some Android devices (especially Samsung), but we'll have to see.
On-topic reply: On my Android phone I use MortPlayer. It can play so many different audio files and playlists, and it uses a folder-based system for music which I much prefer. I hate syncing.
Well, its more the whole portable touch-screen thing. Although its become an everyday occurance, I still see it as amazing that all this information (eg: Internet) is available to us on a simple, no-bigger-than-a-hand device.
...and yet, this age saddens me; because I just know that in 100 years time, these personal items will be so much better by comparison.

You missed my point. I'm really serious. the whole portable touch screen in your hand thing has been going forever. That's why I was a bit miffed at why the i(insertproduct) became so popular, when they were really doing nothing new. I don't really want to get into the prices, but let's just say that apple charged you more than what you would have had to pay for a similar device back in the day.
