Thread: Good Animal Documentaries?

I am a fan of animal documentaries. I loved all of the Planet Earth ones. I am always looking for some new ones to enjoy when I have free time late at night. Can anyone recommend some good ones I can watch online? You don't have to send links, I know in some cases it isn't exactly "legal". I can look into it myself. I just want some titles.

Blue World and Blue Planet are supposed to be good, but I haven't checked them out myself since the ocean gets a big "hell no" from me.

I believe I did watch Blue Planet, I am not sure about Blue World. I will check into it. I think part of the reason I watch anything related to ocean documentaries is because of the fear factor for me. I am scared of large depths and freaky looking creatures so it is like watching a horror film for me. lol

I absolutely loved the Planet Earth and Blue Planet series. I'd watch them and even fall asleep to them. More recently though there is a new movie on netflix that I've been curious about for a couple weeks now. Cats the Mewvie. Could be good, could be bad. Haven't been able to convince myself to watch it yet.

Blue Planet and Planet Earth are two of the few things the BBC has done that I give half a damn about. They're pretty well made. Beyond those, I can't recommend much as I don't tend to watch many animal documentaries. (It's usually crime mysteries, serial killers or other nasty crap that satisfies my degenerate mind.)

If I want to learn about a particular animal, insect, or whatever, I just find something on YouTube.

Of course, National Geographic does some good stuff.

Also, not a documentary but occasionally I watch videos like the below one. These types of videos started in Japan, originally known as Japanese Bug Fights. They're not for everyone. Although the videos aren't a good representation of a death battle in the bugs' natural habitats, it still gives you a half-decent idea of which bugs kick the most ass.



For mantises, even reptiles are on the menu.

In terms of offense-oriented animals I think scorpions are my favorite. They're like the worst part of lobsters, bees, and spiders rolled into one animal. They've got a stinger, claws, venom, and eight legs.
