    Archer

I can't remember if I made a thread for this show or not or if anyone else here did. I clicked back a few pages and didn't see anything though I could have overlooked it by mistake.

Anyways, I am rewatching the show and really enjoying it. It has been a while since I watched any of the episodes. They finally announced the show will be back for season 11 in September. I'll post the trailer below if you want to check it out.

Any other fans here excited for the next season?

    An 11th season?? Damn.

I stopped watching right before they went to do their Miami Spinoff

Season 11 is coming back in September now? Cool. It was supposed to premier in March, but COVID delayed it.
I starter watching Archer a few seasons in, but I love the show. Its raunchy, but it's genuinely funny, and has some pretty clever jokes. And fantastic celebrity cameos. Kenny Loggin's cameo was great.

I'm really excited for Season 11 in particular.
I liked the "alternate universe'-esque season's while Archer was in a coma, but um excited to see how hey introduce everyone again, since Archer was in a coma for 3 years.

Yeah a lot of people didn't care for those seasons. While they aren't as good, I still enjoyed all of them. The full circle of him being in a coma made it make sense. I just wish it would come back for more than 1 season but I think this will be it for the show.

I liked a few of the coma seasons, but they're definitely not ad good as the "real" seasons. Dreamland is the best, imo. I love the 1940s P.I. feel to it. I think everyone transitions well to their new roles. And I think that's why Danger Island is so poorly reviewed. Cyrill as an evil Nazi is just...not believable. I feel Krieger would have fit that role much better. Especially since he may or may not be a clone of Adolf God Damn Hitler. I did like seeing Noah back. He was an underrated side character
1999 was decent, but I just feel they could have done more with a "futuristic" setting. It was just a bit generic in terms of a space epic.

I think that the drastic change just put people off. It was funny to see the characters in different scenarios. I mean if I didn't enjoy it at all, I would have stopped watching.

Archer starts tonight. Friendly reminder to anyone who enjoys the show!

I am actually excited for it. I know it is just a silly cartoon but I have not had much to watch for months and because I have hit a dry spot with gaming, my nights have been pretty boring. lol

What is Archer? Is he a lawyer or an actor or something? I've heard of the show but the YouTube thumbnail at the top of this thread is the most i've seen of it. I had no clue that it looked that way.

Archer revolves around a spy agency that used to be named ISIS (International Secret Intelligence Service) before the real ISIS became a thing. It's basically a spoof of James Bind movies with the main character, Archer, possessing nothing but Bond's bad attributes, especially his love of promiscuous women.
It's produced by Adam Reed and Matt Thompson, who also wrote Frisky Dingo. I quite like it. It's cleverly written, a bit vulgar, but not overly so, and has a great voice cast. I'd recommend it, for sure. It's on FXX.

As for the new season, I liked the 2 episodes they premiered. The way they started the new season was great. A nicely animated action sequence that reintroduces everyone. And I like that it took all of 2 episodes for Archer to fuck up the new more professional organization.

And I like that episode 2 was dedicated to Ron Liebman (Ron Cadillac's voice actor and Jessica Walters's(Mallory) husband
And Archer dealt with Woodhouse's death in about the most Archer was.

I don't follow actors all that much be them voice or otherwise so I had no idea that Jessica's irl husband was Ron. I am glad they paid a tribute to that as well.

The first two episodes did a nice job. They have the right level of comedy and they introduced a new plot that is fresh but still feels framillar to the original narative of the show before Archer went into a coma.
