Thread: Christmas movies you actually enjoy?

There are very few Christmas movies I can say I enjoy and still enjoy to this day. I don't enjoy them because they are great or anything, quite the opposite. In many ways, they are so bad they are good. That kind of enjoyment.

For me, the top three that come to mind are Elf, Jingle All the Way, and A Christmas Story. I can still watch them and enjoy them even though I have seen each one a lot over the years.

What are some Christmas movies you enjoy?

Rudolph, Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Charlie Brown Christmas, Frosty are the 4 I watch every year.

Scrooged is a great take on the Dicken's A Christmas Carol,
It's a Wonderul Life is my mom's favorite, and for as old as it is, it stands up remarkably well. Though I feel Jimmy Stewart would.be canceled by all the snowflakes of today for a few scenes in the movie.
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation is always a classic.
The Muppet's Christmas Carol is a great take on the classic as well.

I forgot to mention How the Grinch Stole Christmas, that one's a classic at my house as well.

Everyone brings up Die Hard as the ultimate Christmas movie but the real Christmas movie is clearly Invasion USA. Terrorists invade during to spoil everyone's holiday cheer and Chuck Norris comes in to stop them so all the people in american can have a merry Christmas.

Speaking of Die Hard...

I spent about an hour playing Die Hard Arcade with a friend of mine tonight on the Sega Saturn.

Honestly, a movie consisting of John McClane fighting spider robots would've made for a more entertaining sequel than A Good Day to Die Hard.

That was one of my favorite arcade beat 'em ups back in the day. Never got a saturn sadly but it was an old arcade I used to go to and I would always play it at least once per trip.

Another movie I actually do enjoy is Home Alone. The first one. The second one is just okay. I will still watch it if I catch it on TV which they seem to have it on every year these days. I just haven't been using my TV all that often to catch it on. I don't think I turned it on once this year LOL I have become accustomed to watching stuff on my computer. Since I pay for cable, I can just watch stuff on the stations' websites.

I know that I saw the Home Alone films a few times as a kid. They were always fun, but it's not something that continued as a tradition into adulthood. Only one animation got that treatment and I know I brought it up in the past. That would be The Snowman. If you've never seen it before (or even if you have) certainly watch it this Christmas. You will not regret it!



Anime's great and all but let's face it... the Japanese could never make anything as magical as that.

Christmas animation movies from the earlier years were better. These days, I see the kind of stuff they pump out and I just feel bad for kids.

Most of what I have seen that Netflix has to offer has been absolute trash. It is like they put no effort into them anymore because they think bright colors, funny noises, and goofy looking characters is enough.
