Thread: The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

I started watching it with my husband and I have got to say, it is pretty good. It follows a woman who is trying to be a standup comedian in the late 1950's. I love the setting for the show, being New York and nothing but Jews and Italians everywhere. Makes for some really funny dialog. The cast is well thought-out too and they work together really well to make the story feel real.

Anyone else watching this show? I think we are like 5 episodes in,

I finished the first season and just started the second one last night. Really enjoyable. You should give it a go and watch it with your wife. I feel like this is the kind of comedy most people can enjoy. I saw some reviews on it about people complaining about how offensive it is and "misogynistic" so I knew it was going to be good. lol

I went to a technology conference and the keynote speaker was some lady dressed as this Maisel character and she structured her lecture around a bunch of references to the show and such. Not having seen the show, I had no idea what she was talking about for nearly an hour.
