Any older series from the 90's worth going back and watching?

I don't have much to watch right now and I actually have grown to enjoy watching something in the evening. I guess it is a sign I am getting old now lol

Anyways, I want to find a new series to watch and looking over the newer ones, none of them stood out to me (aside from the ones I have already watched) so I was thinking of going back in time (viewing wise) to find something new.

Any good TV series from the 90's or early 2000's worth watching today?

I can never say enough good things about Trigun. Along with Outlaw Star and Cowboy Bebop, Trigun forms my holy trinity of space western animes. One of the most thought-provoking and deeply touching animations I've seen of any kind, too. This one is pretty popular so you've probably seen it, but if not, I can't reccomend it enough. I'd also recommend Desert Punk as one of the most underrated animes, but it's definitely not for everybody.

It's not anime, but Firefly is a good show and took a little inspiration from Outlaw Star.

Back to the theme of the thread, I just finished a 90's show last night! Tenchi in Tokyo. I wouldn't recommend it if you aren't already nostalgic for it though. Got some laughs out of us but it definitely isn't deep or particularly memorable from a story angle. Yu Yu Hakusho is a pretty sweet 90's show.

That actually is pretty weird because I've never seen anybody mention it online or elsewhere. Only found it through a random google search one night and it turned out to be one of my all-time favorites.

I figured Korin meant live action since this isn't the Ctarl-Ctarl Empire but perhaps she was looking for either? I'm currently watching Battlestar Galactica with family remotely. It first started in 2003 and this is my second watch. So I guess technically it would count as "early 2000s", but only just. It's a fantastic space military series with plenty of drama, action and some politics too. Yet another early 2000s series that's far too overlooked.

It's at a comfortable length with four seasons and a few TV movies between them. Best part is that it's currently free to stream on SyFy.

I can't speak for the others but I was sort of snarkily posting anime once the conversation went that way. I'm 99% sure the intention here was live-action.

I am fine with any genre really, it just has to be interesting enough. I know there are highly rated ones from the 90's that I would not have ever considered myself which is why I figured I would ask here. I have a preference for action, sci-fi, and drama. I also enjoy sitcoms as well though.

I know a few. I dont think I have to write much for every series I recommend because you can just Google it.
If you want to know more of my opinion on something of that just ask.
Im not sure how familiar you are with the icons of that time, so Im going to deal mostly with those.

    Spoiler
    The Vision of Escaflowne
One of my favorites. Great animation, voice acting and soundtrack.

    Ranma 1/2
Also one of my faves from around that time.

    Slayers
One of the must see oldies in my opinion.

    Noir
Its about secret agents. It goes more in the melancholic direction.
The soundtrack is also pretty good

    Agent AIKA
I have good memories with it. It is also one of the icons if Im not mistaken.
    Great intro.

    Najica
Also about a secret agent. Also more action oriented like AIKA but not as lewd.

    Arjuna
Its about humanity and the environment and more serious topics if I interpreted it correctly.
    I really liked that show.

    blue submarine no 6
Similar to Arjuna its about more importand topics and also a more serious piece of art.

    Golden Boy
Its a bit dissolute in my opinion but I had good times with it.

    Excel Saga
    Good commedy, I like it.

    The Secret of Blue Water
I prever the first version to the remaster.

    The first hellsing Anime.
Im not sure if it can be sayed that the animation is worse or as good as the one of Ultimate but I prefer the first episodes to Ultimate to be honest.

    Berserk
It was popular during that time.

    Mobile Suit Gundam Wing
My favorite Mecha Anime from the 90s.

    Cowboy Bebop
    You probably know it.

    Trigun
    Allready mentioned.

    Serial Experiments Lain
Didnt see it myself yet but its on my list.

    Tenchi Muyou! Tenchi in Tokyo
    Popular and iconic.

    Inuyasha
    Also very popular.

    Wolfs Rain
Its a bit melancholic and philosophical. I liked it.

    Angel sanctuary
Well, its interesting. See for your self.

    X series.
    It was popular in germany.

Not so old but kinda old.
    The Love Hina Anime.
    Fullmetal Alchemist
    The melancholy of haruhi suzumiya.
