    The Walking Dead

Anyone seen this series? It only has six episodes, but it's very fascinating. Pretty similar to 28 Days Later. (One of my favourite films.) Even the main character wakes up in a hospital, which is the same beginning.

Plus, it has that hot girl in it from Prison Break. Sara, I think. Synopsis:

"The Walking Dead tells the story of the aftermath of a zombie apocalypse; it follows a small group of survivors, traveling across the desolate United States in search of a new home away from the shuffling hordes of the undead. The group is led by Rick Grimes, who was a sheriff's deputy in a small Georgia town, before the zombie outbreak. As their situation grows more hazardous, the group's desperation to survive pushes them to the brink of insanity. At every turn they are faced with the unbearable horrors that come from having the dead walk again, as well as facing hostility from the scattered remains of a struggling human populace who are focused on their own survival, now that the structures of society have collapsed."

It's nice to see a good zombie series or film nowadays, since they're in such small numbers.

    RE: The Walking Dead

HOLY #@$&! I remember that show!

Definitely must see for any zombie fans . Usually I avoid any movie that's even close to the horror genre, but that's what I liked about this show, it wasn't just pointless scare scenes, it had a pretty good plot, memorable characters, and it was just really well made.

I hear they're even making a second season! (Keeping mah fingers crossed)
This is my signature, isn't it great?

    RE: The Walking Dead

Yes, I do watch this show! I also read the comics that the show is based off of. Both the comics and the show are amazing! And like Masaka said, it isn't just a zombie shoot em' up (Though there is nothing wrong with that) it's really a story of how humans would react and deal with civilization being destroyed. Regardless of there being zombies, it shows how people would react in a world without order/structure/stability.

Love this show, they better bring the second series up soon, I want to definitely see more of it!

    RE: The Walking Dead

    I watch that too

SHOCK! yes, the wussiest girl ever watches that show

BIGGER SHOCK! and doesn't find it that scary in the slightest

I do enjoy it. But I find that I'm a tad bored cause I have found nothing scary about it. At all. The scariest bit was the start, when he woke up in hospital. But other than that *shrug*

It's nice that I'm not wetting myself in fear, but it's a tad... slow... and predictable... I think that's what gets me the most. It's way too predictable.
You're asking for historical accuracy in a series where men weilding three swords in each hand, pirates surfing across land on giant anchors, horses with motocycle parts attached and feudal-era Power Rangers are the norm?

    RE: The Walking Dead

It's more of a drama than a horror, really. The gore is extreme but it's more to add to the narrative and show the viewers the reality of the situation the characters are in. You can't expect many jumpy scares you'll find in your typical horror films/TV, since as Masaka/Gene said, it's more about human survival in a post-apocalyptic world. I commend the writers of this show (and the comic writer, for that matter) for not succumbing to the typical, mindless "scares". Look what's happened to Resident Evil, geeze. That's not even scary. It's ridiculous.

By the way, I think season two broadcasts in October. I'll be sure to start "getting it" as it broadcasts in America...

    RE: The Walking Dead

Yeah, hopefully the 2nd season picks up the pace a bit more, the first season was amazing, but it was predictable to say the least.

They did change the plot majorly in what occurs after Rick awakens in the hospital and finds his wife and child. I don't want to give any spoilers but while reading the comic and then watching the show, I find myself wondering how the story is going to play out since they did almost make their own story for the show. I am not saying that the show is bad in comparison to the comic (in contrary the comic seems to be a bit repetitive in certain parts, though I haven't read it completely yet). It's just..."different" to the comic.

Anywho, if you haven't read the comic or watched the show, I say do both! You won't be disappointed.

(Aisha Clan Clan) I've never seen a ship like this before. It's far behind any C'tarl-C'tarl ship. It won't move unless you're naked! That's very kinky, wouldn't you say?

    RE: The Walking Dead

The second series was fantastic; I agree. I think the third will be better. I feel like it was really building up to a climax at the end of the second series, and so the third should be more entertaining. Whilst I loved the second series and its deviation from the usual hack-and-slash nature of zombie films/series, sometimes it felt like the drama was a little on the excessive side.
