Korin's thread inspired me to make a thread on the opposite spectrum.
Do you have any Christmas movies you've seen thas t you hate?
Mine is Deck the Halls with Danny Devito and Matthew Broderick. A masterful film that currently holds a 6% critical rating and 30% audience rating on Rottwn Tomatoes.
So...its a beloved classic.
But, seriously. This movie is atrocious. The whole premise is Danny DeVito moves into to Broderick's neighborhood and starts over decorating for Christmas. Broderick is mad because he's the resident over decorstor.
And...that's it. The two constantly try to one-up each others and even sabotage each other to the point where both of their houses sustain major damage, causing their wives to leave them. Only to hurriedly find the "true meaning of Christmas" in the last few minutes and save their marriageswhich will totally not crumble again by Easter. Hooray!
I watched this with my older brother and then girlfriend (now wife) on DVD back in 2006. We finished it, but...we all couldn't believe what we just saw lol.
