    Anyone who does YouTube?

Just curious, since there's been a lot of taf, British slang for rubbish, there and wondering if any of you lot do YouTube or know any good channels that you can recommend?

Funnily enough, "rubbish" is also predominantly British English. I guess you should have said "garbage". Anyhow, as some of you know I have my own channel for Outlaw Star content, but beyond that I don't really host any original content on YouTube. I've thought about it though. As for recommended channels, a large handful of channels I regularly watch have political bias so it's hard to recommend those without knowing one's political stance. I do watch other channels that have nothing to do with politics.

Ashens is one of my favourite YouTubers. My favourite Ashens videos are probably his reviews of various tat and food bought from places like Poundland. He's pretty popular and has his own feature film, and another upcoming too.

Guru Larry is actually a friend of Ashens. Instead of Poundland reviews his videos include his excellent "Fact Hunt" video game series which focuses on lesser known, well... facts (duh) about games and the industry, but he presents them in such an entertaining way. Then there's his Kickstarter scam videos. Also, a related channel.

The Infographics Show is a fact channel, but their videos are presented with nice animations and they're just fun to watch. RealLifeLore is quite similar to this.

I'm sure many gamers will know about this one. The Angry Video Game Nerd is a guy who loves his booze and hates playing shitty old video games, but he does it anyway. These videos are classics.

The Hoax Hotel is a scambaiting channel. The guy responds to scammer calls, e-mails, you name it, but thinks up various scenarios and the best ways to really piss a scammer off. I love this channel, but it's really one to be seen than explained. Scammer Hotline is a similar idea. The YouTuber has made himself a manga character and subsequently the scammers are all manga characters too. It has a different tone to The Hoax Hotel and this YouTuber sure doesn't hesitate to completely embarrass a scammer. One time he connected to a suicidal scammer who said he wanted to die in a church. That was a sad one.

Lev is a very introverted YouTuber who usually uploads videos about various aspects of social anxiety, procrastination (to name a couple) or life in general, but in a comedic manner and everything is hand-drawn, almost in real-time. (Although saying that, he's recently toying with digital animation.) It's an interesting approach and his videos are oddly therapeutic. I think his best content is from 2-3 years ago.

Well, that's just a list of some of my favourites. Give a few of them a try and maybe you'll find something you'll watch in the long term.

I suppose it comes down to what you're looking for. Are you looking for something related to gaming? Just a couple of dudes bullshitting around? Well, I don't know if my suggestions will tickle your fancy but I've got a few that could potentially interest you.

GGmanlives is one of my favorite game reviewers on youtube. He specializes mainly with classic and new first person shooters but he does branch out into other games every now and then. The big reason I find his videos immensely enjoyable is he avoids what I see a lot of video game critics do. He doesn't do skits, he doesn't bash and nitpick the game for the sake of bashing it. It's just straight up laying the cards down on the table in explaining what a particular game does or does not do well.

Want something more humorous? Check out Life of Boris. A slav that makes videos on...well, how a slav lives. He covers things like recipes, gaming and other things that go into being a slav. Some might be turned off by the style of humor but if you want to learn the way of the slav, then that channel has you covered.

And finally, Red Letter Media. While they do skits in some of their reviews, which I wish they didn't do, they are actually solid movie critics that does some interesting and fun critiques of movies. They have several shows like Half in the Bag (Reviews of recent releases) Best of the Worst where they pick several bad movies to figure out which of them is the most awful, and even have some commentaries. There are times where they make some boneheaded observations but they are still a good watch and one of the better movie related channels on youtube. That, and it's always good to hear Rich Evans mighty laugh.

Those were the ones that came to mind. Give 'em a try sometime.

If you like dark humor there is ExplosmEntertainment. Very dark humor, i love it.
DEFI BRILATOR is doing, outside of featurings with S3RL, some pretty hilarious anime montages called "(anime) on crack".

    That's for the English-speaking channels i'm a fan of.

And there is a channel that doesn't need a high level in French : Khaled Freak, who's doing electro mixing on french tv segments.

I'd have a ton of channel to speak of but they're 90% french-speaking, but tell me if you want to know about those too.
    Never overestimate mankind.

Yeah, I do some YouTube. Mostly gaming stuff. Channels are here and here. There is a section of the forum for youtubers and let's players to post their stuff, I have recently started posting there.

As for other YouTubers, my favorite is Super Best Friends Play, they are just average dudes that have known each other since highschool/early college and their flow when recording together is unlike anything i've ever seen, due to them being genuine friends for 10+ years.

When I just want the equivalent of chewing gum content, I'll put Top5's or Top 5 Unknowns videos on autoplay. I love creepy stuff and you get a pretty good pace of new info in these videos, as each is about 8 - 10 minutes and covers 5 events.

I like old tech too, if you wanna see some really batshit zany old computer stuff, LGR is the best place to go.

What kind of things do you enjoy?

I mostly watch animal related channels like Brave Wilderness myself. Some cat channels, a few comedy ones, some cooking, some learning. I think Thoughty2 is a great one that appeals to most people. It is an informational channel but he talks about really cool stuff.

Wow... I completely forgot about Thoughty2. I'm subscribed, but YouTube's algorithms are annoying. One day you're receiving all of a channel's new videos in your feed and the next day... pop. Gone forever even though you're subscribed. I remember setting up a workaround for this that was able to receive all of your subscribers' new videos, but I've gotta admit that for me it's kinda overkill.

Weeeell, it looks like I've got a lot of catching up to do now. While I'm here I'm going to recommend CrazyRussianHacker. I enjoy his kitchen gadget videos and his Russian accent.

I haven't got round to my daily dose of YouTube today, but if I can say one thing in the meantime: that's one bloody epic beard, my man!

Thanks, wish it would grow faster than the snail speed it grows.
