When will the zombie/vampire genre end?

Just was watching a trailer and I had to sit through an add for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Seriously? I am really done with the whole vampire/zombie genre. It was cool at first but it has been beaten to death and is beyond saturated at this point. Go away. Please.

    It'll never end!

People are fascinated with it. Vampires are sexy and cool, zombies are weird and disgusting... people love the supernatural genre, maybe because with vampires for example, it often displays them as creatures that already live among us, if we only knew how to spot them. I think a lot of people suspect there is more going on around us than we know about.

to be honest, i hope it never does. i am a huge fan of horror movies, whether they be good or bad. the more movies people make about zombies means the more fun i get to have watching them.

I'm talking about the over saturation with the current TV/movie scene. I think an occasional TV show or movie is fine, but they are beating it to death in Hollywood.

How so? I can't say I keep up too much with Hollywood, but I don't recall any over-saturation in terms of zombies/vampires. They've both had their phases of being very popular over the decades. The only thing I watch is The Walking Dead which is a brilliant series.
Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!"
    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer, Walking Dead, True Blood, Twilight, Resident Evil, Army of the Dead, Dead Island, Dark Shadows, Zombieland and that is just off the top of my head.

Ok,I am gonna be loud here:
    NNNNNNNNNNNEEEEEVVVVVAAAAAAAAA!
I say this because I love watching good Horror movies with vampires/zombies, and some comedy ones. They play upon our vague imaginings of what goes bump in the night, and they also show the animal hiding in all of us. They have deep roots in our psyche and history

to expand a bit on my previous comment, for me, as long as all the zombie movies made have at least a bit of originality and aren't just remakes of Romero movies, then i can deal with it. on a completely unrelated note, i don't care what anyone says, but abraham lincoln vampire slayer may possibly have been the best movie i've seen this year.

i personally thought it was really entertaining. i think you'll like it if you don't go into it thinking of it as a serious dramatic film, but as of what it is: abe lincoln vs vampires.
