    Video Game Glitches

Feel free to share stories, pictures, or videos of glitches or bugs you've run into during your own game-play or feel free to share ones you have found in and around the internet from others.

I'll start off with a most recent glitch for me. I had just finished a train related mission on red dead redemption when all of a sudden I got ambushed by a pack of wolves. After slaying the pack and skinning the very last one my character got up and proceeded to move like so:

I thought this moment could do with some sound effects...haha.

And sorry for the video quality. I don't have a capture card and the closest thing to me was my camera :S

    RE: Video Game Glitches

Yuss!! Nice thread! anyway, I think my favourite glitch of all time has to be the Oblivion Item duplication glitch, or the Mew glitch for the Original Pokemon games.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGEQ16-Ezx0

I was completely hooked on Oblivion. Probably the most recent game I could say that about. Sure, I was addicted to Skyrim for a couple of weeks. Same with Spore. but with oblivion, I played the shit out of it. This glitch was so bloody useful, if you were low on gold.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkF7Xjxn9jc

I probably didn't need to post this video, but here it is anyway. If you grew up around the same time I did, chances are you and everyone in your school was hooked on Pokemon. There were too many rumours and myths to count, but this one was legit. Forget Missingno. That crap will ruin your game.

    RE: Video Game Glitches

I abused the hell out of the duplication glitch for oblivion haha. Except I did it a different way. If you have more than 2 of the same scroll you make sure you only have one of the item your trying to dupe first like one health potion. You then double click or hit "a" twice on the scrolls then navigate to your potion, drop it, then it duplicates to the amount of scrolls you had selected. I was somewhat fair with it though. I mostly used it for lock picks, soul gems, and the occasional invisibility potion XD I wasn't aware of the mew glitch though, that's awesome!

Y'all might have shown me that one before...
    Still! It's pertinent.

Ah Mew, how long you have eluded us all.

Fiends shouldn't do that. Ever. Nothing should.

Not so much a 'glitch', more of a bug with the monster AI. They try and switch targets immediately, which is hugely exploitable in co-op.
"It turned out that the ghost was just Mr. Finley, who ran the amusement park. The spooky part is that, as soon as the ghost appeared, the teenagers' dog began to speak! And it spoke in a tortured parody of human speech: 'relp me, Raggy,' it would say. 'I am an abomination and rould re rilled. Rill re, Raggy.'"

    RE: Video Game Glitches

Back in 2011, a demo was released for NBA Elite 2011, and the infamous glitch was that the Lakers center Andrew Bynum would stand in the middle of the court like Jesus and get stuck in that position for the rest of the demo (@2:25 of video). (Note: There is swearing in the video, but it was the only one I could find)

    RE: Video Game Glitches

I never did get a chance to try the Mew glitch, rumors were indeed running amok though.

As for Missingno, loved that glitch and the rare candy. Beefed up my Pokemon pretty well although it did ruin a bit of the fun, however I didn't have the time nor patience to properly level them so it got the job done for me. I don't recall it messing up my game either but I did hear some horror stories.

    RE: Video Game Glitches

I clocked around six hundred hours on Pokémon Blue when I was a young lad, but lent it to a friend for a day as he promised not to save a new game. (The game only supported one save file.) Except he saved over my save game I spent an immeasurable amount of time on. I was so angry. Yes, I used the MISSINGNO. glitch and the rare candy one, although I did so sparingly. Mostly because of the corruption rumours supporting the former glitch, and I wanted to earn a sense of achievement. Shame it all went down the gutter.

I enjoyed a lot of the glitches on Halo for the original Xbox, which I played to death. There were fun "exploits" such as Warthog launching, but technically it wasn't a glitch. However, there were plenty of fun actual glitches...

Finally, I used this glitch when I played The Silent Cartographer on Legendary with Cuhathol over Xbox Live...

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KjiADrLwU8

It allowed you to skip a large chunk of the level.
Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!"
    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"
