The Walking Dead: The Video Game

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLX79XLi408

I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this. I don't think I have the right to judge the game since I haven't read the graphic novels. I've only watched the TV series, and the game isn't based on that. I'm actually wondering why today's the first time I've heard about this game. I don't think it has been marketed very well. It has received a mixed reaction from what I can see. Most of the negative reactions come from those who hate cel shading, but let's face the facts: cel-shaded games always get hate from those who feel the toon look will permanently damage their masculinity, and this is based on a graphic novel.

As for the gameplay itself, in a sense, it reminds me of Farenheit. I'm not a huge fan of QTEs, but I enjoyed Farenheit and how it focused a lot of the characters in the game, and I think this is going in a similar direction. Similar to Sonic 4 or Sam & Max (interestingly, the creators are the guys behind Sam & Max, Telltale Games), it's going to be episodic. But you can bet your ass all five of the episodes will be put on a compilation disc at a cheaper price eventually, and I'm prepared to wait. It's a known fact that many film/TV (or comic in this case) game adaptations suck, but without getting hyped about it I'm going to give this one the benefit of the doubt. The Lost game got a lot of hate, but I enjoyed that. (And how light it was on my wallet.)

(Aisha Clan Clan) I've never seen a ship like this before. It's far behind any C'tarl-C'tarl ship. It won't move unless you're naked! That's very kinky, wouldn't you say?

Hmm, 400 MSP for an episode is a pretty good price. It just depends how long the episodes last. Hopefully longer than the TV episodes! But I guess I'll wait and see what you think. Although it's the end of April, so a few weeks from release yet.

Now I'm tempted to buy the graphic novels.

I actually skimmed throught the first novel chapter and it looks really good. I am like you i never read the novel but i did watch the TV series. When i did find out tho i checked out the novel afew weeks ago at booksamillion. Anything to do with Zombies i love im sure just by the clips made me want to play it and want it. Thing is if you buy it does that mean you can play it anytime you want or will it bea limited time and it will not stay on there? I hate to pay for something then get to play it afew months then its gone.

RE: The Walking Dead: The Video Game

    Doesn't look bad.

Doesn't look like a masterpiece either, but the positives do seem to outweigh the negatives by a fair amount by the content in that video. Admittedly, I'm glad that they didn't take the easy route and make a braindead (not the film, hurrrrr...) action-shooter along the lines of L4D too.

Very glad. Because if you've been reading the comics or watching the series, you'll know that The Walking Dead isn't about everyone marching into a town of zombies and blowing the shit out of the place, all guns blazing. Sure it happens every now and again, but that's not the focus. So the developers get a gold medal for that effort alone and resisting the temptation to make another "Road To Fiddler's Green".

Aisha: No, I'm nearly certain when you buy the "episodes" of the game they will stay on your PS3/etc.

darkbetter: It's coming to the PC via Telltale's website.

Baron: Yeah, I agree. I still haven't bought L4D yet. I was thinking of getting it cheap since so many people have encouraged me to get it and tried to convince me it's pretty much the best thing since sliced bread or something. But I got a demo of it and played online, and some guy TK'd me as soon as I started. That's my only experience with L4D, and what a shitty experience.

Wow, that game looks pretty generic. I've actually started to dislike entirely action-orientated zombie games, so I'm not sure I'll bother with L4D.

I'm not sure about this one, Usually video games of TV shows are awful but watching the gameplay it doesn't seem so bad. I'll see, I'm a fan of zombie video games aswell.

I played it near-enough within a week of release, and was just so disappointed with it. Boring, repetitive, brainless crap with pitiful enemy variety. Infinite ammo for the handgun(s) just made it even more laughable and only got me back onto my older games ASAP.

I'll stop here before I go completely off-topic and start ranting.
