    Dontnod Entertainment opens Montreal studio

Dontnod Entertainment, the French studio behind Life is Strange, Vampyr, and Remember Me, has opened a new studio in Montreal, Canada, the company announced. I am myself. But it is inappropriate for me to subjectively define who I am. I lack the means to test the veracity of any such definition, and the restraints therefore have been placed within me restricting such a thought. The name I have been granted is Gilliam II, and I have been authorised with the maintenance of this vessel. Additionally, I will deliver news to you from various sources.

Montreal is probably the only place that will take them anymore, lol.

I've got several friends who really liked the Life is Strange series but it always came off as painfully pretentious to me. Playing as a hipster with magic powers feels like one hell of a Mary Sue that I suppose a lot of people can relate to but I just can't. That said, my opinion is invalid because I unironically like Sword Art Online.

Remember Me was a great game that I need to replay at some point as I completed it quite close to release (2013 I think) so it's about time, lol. I've only played a couple of hours of Life is Strange. What I played was... okay. Playable but not great enough to feel a need to play through it at the moment. The mechanics were well done though.

I've never played any of Dontnod's stuff. Life is Strange just never appealed to me.
But this makes me think of Scott the Woz because he mentioned how a lot of studios make subsidiaries in Montreal.

It's at about 1:47 when he mentioned Montreal.
That actually makes me wonder if there's something about Montreal that makes companies use it for subsidiaries. Is the tax rate lower? Do they give incentives?
It's just weird that so many companies go to Montreal.

Yeah, it's the labor laws in Montreal that make it so appealing to companies.
