Pedos in the Pokemon YouTuber/Twitch community

If you haven't heard, a few names have been dropped with proof of pedophile actions.

Nathan being the biggest one. I can't remember his social names but he deleted all his accounts after threatening some girl over not sending him nude pictures. He threatened her family as well. He would frequently try to hook up with and get pictures from 14 to 16 year old girls.

I only follow a handful of these people so it really took me back. There are a few others who are guilty of this as well, two happen to be females. One tried to groom boys under 18 and the other is just freaking weird. She talks about doing things with her daughter on tumblr or something and her daughter is like 5 or something.

I am glad people are speaking out against these people and bringing this information to light. You never know who you can trust online and anyone who promotes these people to a heavily child based community are just as bad.

I don't use Twitch so I'm not familiar. Although I am a YouTube junkie, just not a Pokémon fan. That's really bizarre but it isn't the first time I've heard about YouTubers doing these things. Yeah, it's an even bigger problem in communities that are mostly made up of children, but unfortunately parents often don't do a good job of warning kids of these dangers.

I was reading a little bit about a related topic a couple of days back: paedophile vigilantes, or something like that. They create fake personas to try to bait paedophiles, similar to that "Catch a Predator" TV show. From what I read I have mixed feelings about it. They baited some older man into meeting a supposedly fourteen-year-old girl and recorded a video of him in his car then put it on Facebook where it went viral. Now I can understand where the people who do this are coming from, but this grandad killed himself days after this video surfaced due to the amount of death threats he was getting and his family disowning him. Were his intentions wrong? Yes. His suicide, however, completely devastated his whole family and there was no evidence of any sex offences in the past.

Clearly he was a paedophile, but likely not a molester, and that's where things get hazy. I'll never understand paedophiles or why they think the way they think, but wanting them executed because they're that way isn't the right way to go about it. They should be given rehabilitation so they don't act on their feelings and learn to control them.
Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!"
    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

It is some kind of mental imbalance for sure. I mean you can't just tell them not to do it, that is like telling a gay person to stop being gay or a straight person to stop being straight. It just doesn't work. Having an attraction to younger people is one thing but kids?... You have to know something isn't right with you. Plenty of these people don't act on what they think or feel though so to lose your mind and attack someone without solid proof is pushing it.

I am in a weird place with this Pokemon stuff though. On one hand, you have 4+ people acting weird but no solid proof they actually did anything outside from hitting on 15 to 17 year olds. Plenty of 15 year olds are fully developed as well so it isn't like you are hitting on a kid who hasn't even hit puberty yet. 1 of the 4 I am aware of made death threats over nude pictures being sent to him... So that dude has legit problems.

I don't know... Like to me, yeah 15 to 17 IS underage and they still are considered kids by law but if you want to label them as kids... Why are kids having sex, talking about sexuality, or any of this stuff? If you are flirting sexually with an older person or agreeing to date them online at the age of 15 to 17... How does this make the other person a pedo? That is where I can't really find the right feelings here on this subject.

I went to school with a girl who had double D's at the age of 13. She looked like she was 22+ in age. What happens if a 20 year old hits on her and she flirts back? Is he a pedo because she is 13? Or was he simply tricked into thinking she was older because of her advanced development? I don't know. If you are flirting and throwing yourself at someone under the age of 18 and it is not welcomed, then it should not be happening. It shouldn't happen at any age. You just don't do that stuff... But if the other person is accepting of it... It just gets weird and fuzzy... Like who is in the right or wrong, what makes said person in the right or wrong, and how do you even adjust laws to protect people from false claims like this?
