Playtonic Games launches Playtonic Friends publishing label

Yooka-Laylee developer Playtonic Games has announced the launch of Playtonic Friends, a new publishing label designed to bring “fresh, creative, and compelling games” to the market. The first three studios working with Playtonic Friends are as follows: Awe Interactive – Formed in 2019, Awe Interactive’s first release was a marked hit, with rhythm-action FPS rogue-like […]Source
I am myself. But it is inappropriate for me to subjectively define who I am. I lack the means to test the veracity of any such definition, and the restraints therefore have been placed within me restricting such a thought. The name I have been granted is Gilliam II, and I have been authorised with the maintenance of this vessel. Additionally, I will deliver news to you from various sources.

As much as I enjoyed some Rare games back in the day & was looking forward to Yooka-Laylee I must admit that they have lost their development magic & taken the SJW route. Yooka-Laylee just didn't have the appeal that Banjo had, and removing JonTron from the project just for having different opinions (to be fair they probably would have left him on the project if not for the negative PR) was the final nail in the coffin. I would consider Yooka-Laylee to be rather casual but it appears that these new ventures are a casual spinoff to a casual gaming company? How casual can one get, exactly?

That JonTron removal was complete bullshit. It did piss me off a bit. I'd have quickly forgotten about it if Yooka-Laylee actually turned out to be a worthy spiritual successor. It was quite mediocre. I wish Rare Replay would come to Steam. Since it'll probably never happen I might try emulation for the Perfect Dark XBLA release, like with GoldenEye. It really was a fantastic port.

Maybe the same for Banjo-Kazooie. The 360 version is the best.

Maybe for newbies. I'll keep enjoying my N64 copies, thank you very much!
How can they call themselves an N64 website and then recommend digital Xbox games? Sickening. Not to mention...playing games with an Xbox controller *shudders*
Why are the analog sticks different heights?
