A rumored GTA is already in the works

I thought that the next game they were making would be another Bully but based on the numbers of sales comparing RDR2 to GTA V and everything before that, I can see why they want to go back to GTA. I am not sure what it will be like but supposedly it will be huge and be packed full of stuff by the time they finish it. My guess is that it won't be out until something like 2024 so we have a ways to go.

Already? I'm pretty sure there was around four years between IV and V. In a few months it'll be eight years since that. Technology advancements certainly do increase development times of big-name games, almost exponentially.

Yeah, it'll still be a few years until we see GTA VI. With regards to Rockstar all I care about at the moment is seeing Red Dead Redemption on PC. (Red Dead Revolver would be nice too.) Apparently that'll never happen for so-called technical reasons. It just feels incomplete to only have the third game in a series.

It reminds me of how I held off on playing Ni no Kuni II on PC because I thought it'd be pretty stupid to play a sequel first. A little under two years later we finally got the original. Why not just release the first game first? But then I learned that the sequel has nothing to do with original. I get that Final Fantasy managed to pull that off properly (so I'll call it an exception as it has such a history) but it'd be better if different games (as in, not an actual sequel) had titles of their own. Vice City and San Andreas had great names.

    Obligatory:

Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!"
    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

To hell with GTA, what about that rumored medieval game that they are supposedly working on? Assuming they don't have the dumb bullshit that Red Dead Redemption 2 had, I'd be down for that. We don't have enough medieval themed games.

I wouldn't mind this but I think people would get bored of it fast. It would be like RDR2 with less stuff. No cars, guns, explosives, etc.

The Witcher 3, Kingdom Come: Deliverance and For Honor beg to differ. Those games had none of those and they were well liked for the most part. The only concerning thing is Rockstar games seems to be turning into Naughty Dog that are being run by self-important douchebags that say that their games aren't meant to be fun to justify some of the stupid decisions they have. If they can pull their head out of their ass and really hammer the gameplay, then it can turn into something really cool.

...and Dark Souls 3. Gotta agree with Starwind, I think people are finally getting tired of microtransaction-filled modern-themed stuff. Maybe not tired of it but just over-saturated. I'm not the huge fan of medieval stuff that I used to be, but it would be a breath of fresh air. Although few and far-between, recent AAA efforts at medieval settings have done very well. They can always go back to cars after that.
