    Six Days in Fallujah

If you remember way, way back in the mid 2000s, you probably heard about this game and the ruckus that it caused at the time. People thought that doing a game's subject matter was incredibly distasteful especially since the Iraq war was still ongoing at the time and it ended up getting canned. Now, the game has risen from the grave, this time being made by developers who are Halo-alumni. I was caught by surprise. I don't think I've heard of a original IP that got cancelled only to be picked up again. I'm sure it's not the first time it's happened but I find it interesting that they brought back this of all games to be worked on again. Regardless of whether or not you think a game like this is insensitive, IMO it looks intriguing. They are going to have the maps be randomly generated to make each encounters dynamic. I wonder if they're going to do something like in the SWAT games where the placement of enemies and their AI gets changed around each time you play. It looks a lot more tactical that I thought it would be, where you have to count your shots, make sure your team flanks the enemy, ect. If the developers do their jobs right, we could have something just as good as the tactical shooters of yesteryear like SWAT 3 and 4 or the OG Rainbow Six games.

I heard about people already trying to get this game canceled. What I don't understand is that it is very on-brand with other war games that have come out and done well. Why is this one being targeted so much? I know plenty of people who will be getting the game and very few who won't, at least in my own gaming circle and those who I watch on YouTube.

Whether or not it caused a ruckus, I'm glad I watched that video. It looks way better than I expected & it's now on my radar. I grew weary of the CoD style shooters but this looks far more tactical than that. They should have gone ahead with it back in the day whether it was offensive or not but if we get a better product now then I guess it was for the best. I fully support people who don't like it not buying it. I always say vote with your wallet. I just recently posted about how I don't like Ben & Jerry's ice cream for their politics and Coke as well, though you'll never catch me saying that they shouldn't be allowed to do business or make products. I just don't buy them. That's no different for video games. This one tackles a subject that's somewhat tone-deaf. If that bothers you then don't buy it.

Starwind55 knows I really enjoy SWAT 4 (we did multiplayer at one point, something I'd like to resume down the line) so it's a sure thing that I'll enjoy this game if the publishers don't pussy out.

The thing that the gormless mongs who are trying to "cancel" this don't realise is that the game's story to my knowledge has multiple perspectives. A bit like how Aliens vs. Predator works, perhaps. Not only do you get to play as marines, you also get to play as the civilians (based on true accounts) who suffered from the events that transpired there. Wow, such propaganda, such bias, such evil.

Jack Thompson would have been having a field day if he received this level of support for his anti-game lobbying when he was active. Who'd have thunk, a shamelessly homophobic conservative like him now having many thousands of leftists on his side. These new kinds of "murder simulations" must be stopped!

I've seen a video on it done by SomeOrdinaryGamers and I was like "What?" The gameplay presentation looks... okay, but I'm not interested in checking it out on my own.
