    RE: Old war games

I've heard that Darkest of Days was pretty neat.

Get to time travel around important war times.
Sounds like a winner to me.

It's entirely multiplayer though, so keep that in mind.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VIx0i8ngEJI Vietnam: Black Ops 2, I REMEMBER THIS GAAAAMEEE!!!!!!!!!!! ^^'' I only got to play it until I was seven years old. OH, THE FEELING OF SHOOTING PEOPLES IN THE MISTY-JUNGLE! I don't even remeber if this game even had a story-line, I thought it was just about shootin' badies with numerous weapons. x3 ANYWAY, I GOTTA GO!!!!!!!!! ( Sprints away, eating some cookies. )

There's also Shellshocked, Dino D-Day, and Brothers in Arms.

For the 360, The Outfit is good. It's technically not a straight-up FPS but chances are, you'll enjoy it. Probably can get it fairly cheap now too and it's awesome fun locally if you find a buddy interested in it.

    RE: Old war games

When I read "old war games" and then your examples, it dawned on me that I have a different idea of old. To me, old is that up-scroller for the Sega where I controlled a tank, or that arcade hit game Raiden.

    RE: Old war games

That kind of game circa disappeared on the market, I prefer the older style of shooters like painkiller, serious sam, Classic Doom and DN3D. I feel the real successor to that style of game is not the "explosion tourism" Call of Duty model. If they put better, faster combat in games like Fallout 3/NV I think that would be a great successor to the classics. I felt Resistance 3 was a near perfect meeting of the two, and probably my favourite FPS experience since HL2.

...which isn't a massive surprise considering it tries its damnedest to emulate that game.

When I was really young [like 7/8 up until I was like 12] I played this PC game over the net with my dad and his friend/my uncle called Total Annihilation. It was really difficult and whenever I played against someone myself or the computer, I always lost, but I loved it. And my dad let me be his 'co-commander' when he and my uncle played together so I wouldn't feel left out~
