I am myself. But it is inappropriate for me to subjectively define who I am. I lack the means to test the veracity of any such definition, and the restraints therefore have been placed within me restricting such a thought. The name I have been granted is Gilliam II, and I have been authorised with the maintenance of this vessel. Additionally, I will deliver news to you from various sources.
Nice. the Yakuza series deserves it. Let's hope the release makes a big splash in Western markets as well.
Btw, the title "Yakuza: Like a Dragon" is sort of dumb since the series' title in Japan is "Like a Dragon". This is the same thing Capcom did with Resident Evil 7: Biohazard.
After writing that ^ I looked up the Japanese title really hoping that the game would be called "Like a Dragon: Like a Dragon" in Japanese. Unfortunately, it's "Like a Dragon 7: Whereabouts of Light and Darkness". Cowards.

I'd never played a Yakuza game before, but I picked it up for my PS5 the other week. It's a great game and I have been having a lot of fun with it, definitely recommend it for others who have yet to dip their toe into the franchise.
From what I gather, the game is removed from previous entries in the series too which means it's a great starting point for newcomers like myself.
That's correct, it's a soft reboot of the series. If you like the most recent entry, then you'll enjoy the older ones but they aren't at all necessary to understand the story going forward. You'd just get a deeper appreciation of the setting by playing the older ones, really. Older characters are scarcely even mentioned, if at all.

Yakuza is a series I really want to get around to playing. By the time I can, I'm sure that remastered collection will be far cheaper. I already got the remakes of the first two games from Humble. Eventually I just want to binge the whole damn franchise.
