    Wink Hey folks, newbie here!

Hi everyone! I'm Grant! Outlaw Star has had an immense impact on my life and it's not only my favorite anime of all time, but my favorite series of all time. Its world-building, cast of characters, themes of existentialism and romanticism, sense of adventure, and spirit of motivation will always make it stick with me. Unfortunately, I haven't encountered anyone IRL who has shared my enthusiasm. Most people I know either haven't seen it or simply remember it as "that thing that aired on Toonami." When I discovered this community, I was overjoyed! I look forward to getting to know such a passionate community and making friends here.

Hey there Grant! Yeah, passionate Outlaw Star fans are a rare breed. Even online, I haven't found many people who've mentioned Outlaw Star's existentialism! The anime (more so than the manga) has a philosophical side that few people see. The Galactic Leyline isn't explained very well so there are loads of theories when you think about it. One of the most interesting ones in my opinion is "simulated reality".

Glad you found us! Welcome to Nexus.

    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

I'm not big on starting my own threads, so going to piggyback on Grant's! Outlaw Star was equally amazing watching as a child on Toonami as it is re-watching it right this moment. I went to Rose City Comic Con in Portland this weekend and saw someone's art depicting a girl in a spacesuit with helmet that instantly reminded me of the credit artwork of similar description and knew I had to give the show another watch!

I'm pretty passive, so I'll probably just stick to lurking like I usually do. Just wanted to chime in and say I'm right there with the rest of you and have really enjoyed reading up on the other conversations!
