    What is your ideal vacation?

Given that we are kind of being forced into a vacation of sorts (lol) I thought this would be a fun topic.

I know not everyone needs to go somewhere to enjoy pausing from life so what would be your ideal vacation?

For me, I would love to go stay in a cabin. One that is fully functional with electricity, wifi, AC, etc. but is also away from people. So you are in the middle of nature and able to just take it all in while still feeling connected and comfortable within the cabin. I think it would be fun to just be able to walk out onto your porch or deck in the AM and see animals everywhere as well. I wouldn't need to travel far for this either which is a bonus since I am too chicken to fly lol

If I had to keep things local in the US, for me I would want to spend a week on the west coast. Anywhere I can ski during the morning, golf a round of 9 - or 18 if I'm feeling good - in the afternoon, and lounge on the beach with a drink in hand during the evening sounds like nirvana in my book. Maybe take an "excursion" to Vegas if I'm feeling saucy. The closest thing I had to experiencing this environment was when I went to Hawaii back in 2006...but that was when I was 14. I feel like if I took the vacation now I would be able to fully enjoy it.

As far as international vacations...not sure about that yet! I've been to Italy and France, but really want to find time to go to either Germany or somewhere in Eastern Europe to go back to my roots. The jury's out on the specifics of those trips, but it's definitely something to think about.
A boy has the right to dream. There are endless possibilities stretched out before him. What awaits him down the path he will then have to choose; the boy doesn't always know. At some point the boy then becomes an adult, and learns what he was able to become. Joy and sadness will forever accompany this. He is confronted with a choice; when this happens, does he bid his past farewell in his heart? Once a boy becomes an adult, he can no longer go back to being a boy; the boy is now a man. Only one thing can be said: "A boy has the right to dream.". For those endless possibilities are stretched out before him.

We must remember...all men were once boys.

I'd want to go back to Hokkaido, Japan in February again. Snow, snow, and more snow...beef & beer. I like snowy/winter places and the Sapporo Snow Festival was really fun last time I went. I'm tentatively planning a trip to Japan this Fall or Winter so hopefully this won't be too far out of my grasp.

Damn dude you reminded me that I went to Hawaii lol! I had almost forgotten since it was so long ago...I went when I was 11 in 2004. I'd really like to go back, but with my wife being Japanese she vacationed there every Summer and I think she's sort of burnt out on it. On my way there I met some guys from Guam in the airport who were in the mainland USA to join the military and were on their way to basic training. We sat next to eachother for a few hours waiting for a layover flight and with me being 11 years old I asked them why they were wearing military uniforms. Hope those guys are safe.

Four weeks with something like sightseeing involved. Places where there is stuff to try out.
Hiking is also something I can imgine to do on a vacation, this and good old skiing.

Any seaside town with good people, a nice beach and warm weather.
