    Hex's Merchandise and Work Diary

So yeah... Because I'm ultra materialistic I take as many shifts at work as I can get to fund my spending habits as well as pay the bills; that's why I haven't been as active here as I wanted to be. I ended up working this entire week and on Saturday and Sunday I will be working 14 hours shifts until, at last, I'm using my vacation time to just take a week off and chill. So I don't get too bored I'll probably do some small daytrips; I've been wanting to go to a town about two hours away because of a Vespa dealer that's there.

I'm expecting a TON of packages in October. In-between getting new stuff I thought I'd show off what I currently have in my possession starting with a movie that's near and dear to my heart: The Brave Little Toaster.

It's older than me and I've had the VHS tape for as long as I can remember. Although the animation is showing its age it's a film that I enjoyed more and more as I aged because it isn't one of those films that panders to kids. The characters, music, voice talent... It was all just perfect in my eyes.

Let's start off with the book that started it all! Took me quite awhile to obtain since it's out of print:

To be honest some of the illustrations are kind of horrifying, so I appreciate the tweaks made for the movie.

Sadly there was very little official merchandise. I have the few items that were made:

I did also get my hands on some very rare promotional material!:

It's very, very hard to find cels from the original film. Here's the few I've managed to snag that have popped up on eBay over the years:

Some of these I actually obtained from Rebecca Rees, who is the wife of the director, Jerry Rees. He was kind enough to make these for me:

I didn't know this pin wasn't official when I bought it, but it's very well made, even if they didn't include the radio:

Lastly, because I'm a rabid fan, here's the stuff I've had commissioned:

I got my latest packages from eBay and my proxy that I thought I'd share!

This little Black Frost is ultra rare nowadays. So lucky to have found an Italian seller willing to haggle and ship him to the US. Cost way more than I ever wanted to spend, but plushies really get expensive, and he's in perfect condition and complete with his tag. It's probably one of the few chances anyone will get again to own one.*

TINY KEYCHAIN OF MY NEWEST HUSBAND. So I finally got around to playing Dual Destinies. It took me this long because of the double whammy of being super pissed Capcom wouldn't bring over Ace Attorney Investigations 2 and then wouldn't give DD a physical release. However, being the big Phoenix Wright fan that I am, I couldn't stay away forever and downloaded it.

I LOVED BOBBY FULBRIGHT AND SIMON BLACKQUILL. The game wasn't that great (thank goodness Spirit of Justice made up for it), but I liked the addition of these two!

The set this keychain was in has been long sold out and I just missed one on Suruga-ya. I wasn't going to pay $30 for the one on Yahoo Japan Auctions, so on a whim I tried "Ban Gouzou" on the US eBay when his English name didn't work and found him! I feel very lucky!

Adorable little PSP pouch of Prince from Katamari Damacy! It was a pre-order item only available in Japan. I love this series with every fiber of my being, and merchandise is hard to come by, so I HAD to have it!

Just in time for Halloween it's one of my favorite Pokemon, Gengar! I'd like to get more of the Halloween themed Pokemon plushies. They really are just way too cute!

This cold cast Ulala statue is pretty hard to find at decent prices nowadays. Suruga-ya had one at a "bargain" (I use that word loosely; still hurt) price and I couldn't stand to not own this for any longer!

Space Channel 5 is another one of those cult favorite games I enjoyed and there really wasn't much in terms of high quality merchandise made. I'm not 100% happy with her face, but the rest is just splendid.

I love that Katamari pouch! And I agree about there not being enough merchandise, a magnetic Katamari that could roll things up would be really cool, though now that I look eBay seems to have a number of Prince plushies. My only problem with them is they seem to be rather 'top heavy' so I doubt he'd be able to sit up very well. That, and I have no idea if its an official product or not.

Oh god, I've just had a terrifying idea. Kind of all Cosmos dakimakura... I'll see myself out now.

If we're looking at the same plushies than I'm going to say they're not official since the sellers all say China. Unfortunately official merchandise hasn't been cataloged very well so I don't know what's all out there. I would highly suggest saving up for this, though: http://myfigurecollection.net/item/381933

First4Figures loves to announce stuff and then take years to make it. They tend to be on the expensive side as well ><

OMFG... Not gonna lie... I would probably buy that daki if it existed because of how hilarious it would be xD

Wow! I had no idea F4F were making a Katamari statue, that's pretty good, but I'd like it a lot more if the Katamari itself had a mountain of stuff on it (as a Katamari should!)

    Still, at least it's something!

I'm seriously considering getting their Wind Waker statue when it comes out, since that game was such a big part of my childhood, but I'd have a hard time finding the space for it...
