How many meats have you tried?

Since there's a thread about vegans and I was thinking about this today, figured I'd make a thread. Obviously, this thread won't interest any vegetarian/vegan. I've tried many meats and I hope to try many more. Insects, not so much. But, returning to the meat of the matter, animals. Today I ate a couple of duck breasts. I'd had duck in the past but I completely forgot how it was. Ehh, it's nasty. Each to their own, but it was like steak but incredibly fatty with the funniest flavour.

I love most meats I try but I think I'll pass on any duck feasts in future. Also on this topic, I never really looked it up, but I can't really understand why most Americans couldn't really care about lamb. Unlike duck, it's delicious. Especially lamb chops. They're a common favourite amongst Brits.

What's your favourite meat, and what are some of the most adventurous you've tried? Well, as this'll be quicker than typing it out, here's (from Steam profile) a list of the various animals (probably missed a few) I've tried over the years.

    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

I've mainly stick with beef and chicken, with the occasional pork if I'm having ribs. There's a local place here that serves gyro so I had some lamb meat which I think is pretty good. There's another restaurant here that serve elk burgers which I thought were really damn good. We used to have another restaurant here that served bison burgers but sadly it closed down. A pity since those were really good, impressive since I heard they can be challenging to cook. I really want to try venison one of these days.

Are we counting each type of seafood/fish individually?

funny you should mention that about lamb, everyone i know eats lamb chops, gyros, etc. Had lamb this past weekend! We don't have as many Middle Easterners as the UK so we don't have many kebab places outside of really specific parts of certain cities, but that's a thing here also. There's a Greek food festival at a Greek Orthodox church near my apartment 4 times per year. They sell these comically large lamb shanks that feed me for two meals, plus the dog can chew the bone for a few hours. I think in some parts of the country lamb isn't popular whatsoever. It's tough to generalize because the US is huge, people tend to get that we are (debate-ably) a larger country than China.

I'll try to list them: Turkey, Duck, Quail, Pheasant, Dove, Chicken, Cornish Hen, Cow, Deer, Pig, Horse, Lamb/sheep, Goat, Frog, Antelope, Snail, Larvae, Clam, Ark Shell, Scallop, Tuna, Salmon, Swordfish, Mackerel, Cod, Haddock, Sea Bass, Freshwater Bass, Squid, Octopus, Crocodile, Alligator, Elk, Kangaroo, Manta Ray, Shark, Whitebait, Jellyfish (very good shredded and mixed in ice-cream. You get these frozen chewy bits), Turtle, wild Boar, Yellowtail, Crab, Lobster, Sea Urchin (the part you eat are the gonads), fish roe, caviar, shrimp, Freshwater Eel, Saltwater Eel, Rabbit, Whelk Clam, Blue Fin, Red Snapper, Flounder, Bronzini, Catfish, Trout, Halibut, Oysters, Tilapia, Surf Clam, .......and that's all I can think of right now.

    Favorite seafood: Hotate (raw scallop)
Mammal: Cow (beef). Horse/Rabbit/Deer tie for 2nd because they all have that gamey-ness that I like as an alternative to beef.
Reptile: Amphibians/Reptiles/Insects: A properly done frog leg with some seasoning is the best. If you're not doing anything fancy with it, then turtle.
    Poultry: Turkey

I have only ever eaten beef, chicken, pork and some fish. Never tried lamb, duck, deer... But I have had ostrich meat. Do not recommend. Seriously. Do not eat it.

I like chicken the most. Beef has to be either in the form of a burger, meatball, or fatless steak. Pork is the one I eat the least only liking Italian sausage and I rarely eat it. Maybe 7 times a year. Not a fan of ham or bacon, or any other sausages. I like salmon when it is grilled. General white fish is okay in the form of fish sticks/breaded fish. My favorite fish is an expensive one and I can never remember the name of it but it tastes almost like chicken and not fishy at all. I just know I had it 2 times and both times my dinner was not cheap. I think it was like 20 something for the fish and rice.

How about in the form of a bowl-full of slightly bloody udder fat? No joke, this is my wife's favorite way to eat beef, and I've eaten it twice before knowing that I was eating literal cow rectum & jellied assholes/fat.

That was my "oh...she's really Asian for real" moment. Close 2nd was her talking to me while squid tentacles hung out of her mouth. I asked her a question as she was swallowing a squid whole so she stopped and spoke a full sentence with it half slurped down...

Does she have really healthy teeth? I heard that people who eat this kind of stuff typically have strong teeth without any cavities. A family friend loves eating organ meats and such and only ever had 1 cavity.
