RE: Any one in a band?

I used to learn guitar as a teen but I didn't get far. I can remember next to nothing now. I got a new keyboard a lot earlier this year, and I really want to start learning it properly. I wish I wasn't such a lazy bum. I wouldn't mind learning bass myself one day. As for bands, never something I looked into as I lacked the talent. Don't know about anyone else, though.

    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

RE: Any one in a band?

    I'm in a 'band'.

It was originally three of us, but then our drummer went and joined the RAF (thankfully before we even considered throwing money at a new drumkit), so now there are two of us, although sometimes we rope someone else into joining us for a day or two. Sessions involve me turning up at his place with my guitar and bass (even though he has several of his own), and the pair of sitting around twiddling our thumbs for several hours/days while drinking too much beer and playing 15-second melodies from old video games.

In other words, don't expect me to post 'I have a record contract!' any time soon. We just don't take it seriously enough.

And it spoke in a tortured parody of human speech: 'relp me, Raggy,' it would say. 'I am an abomination and rould re rilled. Rill re, Raggy.'"

RE: Any one in a band?

I have 4 guitars(1 Folk, 1 Steel String Acoustic, and 2 Electric) but I have only taken three classes throughout my life in terms of learning how to play guitar and two of them were for classical guitar so it didn't help much in terms of playing Electric and the genre of music I like to listen to (Punk, Progressive Rock, etc.)

I DO have an old video on youtube I made for a cover of Coheed And Cambria's "Devil In Jersey City" however I made this video without properly learning the entire correct way of playing it and I only tried making the video once. ANYWHO, here ya go!

That's me, and to be quite honest, I have BARELY improved since then.

But in terms of a band, I only play guitar by myself, never found anyone who ever wanted to jam or actually teach me in my area unfortunately. So don't expect me being in a band anytime soon.

RE: Any one in a band?

I was once in a ska band in high school, but then ended pretty quickly due to other commitments. Since then, nothing much in the works.

It's sad too, because I'm been playing drums for 10 years and I don't know anyone else in my area who are on the same level of musicianship as I am in guitar and bass. Not to sound arrogant, but I think if I were in a local band, it would be Blink 182 all over again, in terms of how the drummer is the best musician in the band. And let's be honest; no one wants that.
A boy has the right to dream. There are endless possibilities stretched out before him. What awaits him down the path he will then have to choose; the boy doesn't always know. At some point the boy then becomes an adult, and learns what he was able to become. Joy and sadness will forever accompany this. He is confronted with a choice; when this happens, does he bid his past farewell in his heart? Once a boy becomes an adult, he can no longer go back to being a boy; the boy is now a man. Only one thing can be said: "A boy has the right to dream.". For those endless possibilities are stretched out before him.

We must remember...all men were once boys.

Dude, You should listen to some of my music. I could use a drummer for creating authentic drum loops and individual drum sounds. That is, if you are up for it, and have a decent recording setup.

Really...I'm interested. Send me some of your stuff, then.
