Am I to assume this differs from the band/genre thread in that it is about solo musicians or singers?

Would Koji Kondo count? I mean, he's technically a composer... but still. He's the genius behind the 'Legend of Zelda' soundtracks. This song always brings a tear to my eye. :')

My favorite singer would be Amy Lee from Evanescence. No exceptions or second thoughts, she is my favorite. She has such a powerful and beautiful voice.
