Dang, that's a pretty good idea. My music tastes are pretty weird but I'll give it a go. I'm going in blind because while I've heard of Lacuna Coil I don't remember hearing this song.

Right off the bat this gets a point from me as I believe heaven is a lie! But then again, I guess the depends on the interpretation. Does this literally mean heaven, or does it mean one's idea of a personal utopia? Either way, I don't believe in God or heaven and believe that a perfect life is unattainable. So why desire it?

Where it doesn't score a point is the music video itself. (Rather than the song.) Like a lot of music videos it doesn't seem to have much of a purpose. Music videos that follow the narrative that's conveyed in the song's lyrics can be great, but if it's just a bunch of shots of the band I don't find much interesting about it. In these cases I prefer to just watch a still video that displays the lyrics.

The singer has a good voice and the instrumentals are pretty good. It's not the kind of music genre I'd ever listen to, but it wasn't bad.

    ---

As for my choice, it's an instrumental song. This time a story is told through the music video, so it's all down to your interpretation.

Good song, but I used to have this on my iPod Nano so it was a blast from the past rather than something new for me! I hadn't seen the music video though. I'm not really one for music videos...I don't like to interpret things or art, if the story isn't readily apparent I tend to consider that as a failure. There are exceptions of course.

To be honest, I got stuck very early on thinking about Botley from Jump Start 3rd Grade, an old PC learning game I played. It's good to see that Botley found a job after his time teaching kids.

I got to reminiscing about my Jump Start game memories, and before I knew it the song was over.

Here's mine. Everyone I know hates it. You don't have to finish it but try to make it halfway. Really whack PS2 game OST. word on the street is that this guy didn't actually know how to compose/read music and used a bunch of audio/voice samples to make this. These days the composer works on the Armored Core series.

It isn't terrible. I mean I can sit here and listen to it. It seems a bit out of tune in some areas but considering most of the music I listen to these days is video game based, this would fit right in. lol The ending felt off though. Like is just stops. It feels like a track you can put on loop and not miss a tune.

    Up next, my music choice:

It is 8 minutes long but it is a good 8 minutes, I promise. lol

That was nicely done. There's times where his guitar work reminds me a bit of Dragonforce at times, especially near the beginning. You weren't kidding when you said that it was a good 8 minutes! He showed a nice variety of styles just through the guitar alone. Really impressive.

So anywho, for my music choice...

I searched for the above song's lyrics. I think it'd be easier if people just paste lyrics in spoiler tags or something. It's probably just me but half the time I end up missing half the lyrics in songs. So, my thoughts on it...

I was unsure for the first minute or so, but I started enjoying it after the tempo increase. Pretty catchy a couple of minutes in. To be honest, I don't like the singer's voice much so I'd probably enjoy a cover more. The lyrics are good, so are the instrumentals and the vocals from the woman are A-class. (Not the best analysis in the world, I know.)

So, for my choice I have another music video for you. This one has lyrics though. I'd say it's one of the best music videos I've seen in ages. It tells a story too which I always love to see in music videos. Some of you might know it.

    Lyrics
    [Verse 1]
    Our ejaculation fuels their automation
    Unwelcome stimulation for their insemination
    Incarceration's our only destination
Testicle gas stations, our only occupation

    [Pre-Chorus]
    There's no escape from
    Monsters they make from
    cum

    [Chorus]
Born into a world without anime
Where the sun doesn't shine, there's no sanity
We are left alone with these killing machines
We have no home, we have no dreams
Crushed under the weight of the mechanical demon
We are victims of fate from the power of semen

    [Verse 2]
    Eradication, a sacred animation
    Forced participation in robot masturbation
    Humiliation and penis irritation
All this devastation for a wiener donation

    [Pre-Chorus]
    There's no escape from
    Monsters they make from
    cum

    [Bridge]
    Humanity overrun
The night is darkest before dawn
Here they come to cage us
    John Connor, save us

    Please leave my dick alone

    [Chorus]
Born into a world without anime
Where the sun doesn't shine, there's no sanity
We are left alone with these killing machines
We have no home, we have no dreams
Crushed under the weight of the mechanical demon
We are victims of fate from the power of semen

I hasn't listened to Charlie's new song before.
But this is great. The lyrics are hysterical,(there's no escape from monster's made of cum. I love it) the instrumentals are great, and the video itself is gorgeous. The whole thing gives me Metalocalypse vibes.
As for vocals, I'm not usually a fan of this kind of metal, but I liked Charlie's vocals here. Roboticising (is that a word? Lol) his voice works really well here, and he's got some impressive chops.
I'm glad you forced a listen, Mantis lol.

Scrubs is one of my favorite shows, and "My Musical" is one of my favorite episodes. Most if the songs are silly or very in jokey, but "What's Going to Happen" is the most serious piece, and is doesn't need much explanation.

Though I can give some explanation if anyone is curious.
The patient, Mrs. Miller, faints on a walk and is discovered by JD and Elliot, they ask if she's ok and hears them singing. But they're not. It turns out at the end she has a large brain aneurism, which causes her to hear people singing.

That was a very moving piece and your explanation of this scene makes the song all the more blue. I've never seen much of Scrubs but I know it bounces back between serious and goofy, with this song certainly being in the former category. The piano is beautiful and the guy at the end singing "We hope" is somehow both humorous and sad at the same time.

    For my next tune...

That song is fantastic. I loved it! The instrumental is amazing, and the singer has a great voice that kind of reminds me of Jack Black, especially with the falsetto. It's a shame it has so little views. It deserves much much more than 4K Thanks for that, Starwind. that was great!

This is one of my favorite Eagles song because it has a great message that ring scarily true nowadays.
The only version from the Eagles I could find is a live version. There's a bunch of covers, but only 1 of the original. Not sure why.

best line of the song: Bitch about the present, blame it on the past.
I'd like to find your inner child and kick it's little ass. Fantastic lol.
