As long as you can market it people will attend it, those courses are a great way for universities to make money because they require so little effort yet still bring in money. I've had a very different mindset several years ago and if I was met with the same choice today I would have never gone.

Yep. At my university they call it Criminal Justice I think.

I've ended up telling my tutor that I'd rather work for amazin™ than attend another one of his lectures and ironically enough, that's where I've ended up working after moving to London. I've stayed at the company since and now they've paid my tuition for a web development course. So everything worked out better than expected. I don't think I'd consider a public service job, it just doesn't seem as appealing to me as it did a few years ago. There was so much wrong with the Police Studies programme that if I was to describe all the things that put me off I'd end up writing a thesis.
