    Boxsets

I have a queory about Outlaw Staw boxsets in the UK as I am looking to finally purchase my own.

A quick google told me that there's a new boxset coming out on the 24th January 2011! amazon.co.uk are taking pre-orders as well as other places, such as HMV.

Does anyone have more info about this boxset? The only other one I could find was from amazon.com (US). Is there a difference between these boxsets?

Surely all of them feature the complete full series?

Thanks a lot for any answers to this,

    Katey

What an interesting find. I believe these are the sites you are referring to. As you can see, HMV says "artwork TBC", and Amazon has an image but I think that's just a temporary one. From my understanding, there are three main Outlaw Star full boxsets out currently. There is the Perfect Collection, and then there's the Complete Collection. Ironically, the Complete Collection has some additional features that the "Perfect" one does not. If you had wanted the Complete Collection before (which was also an Anime Legends release), you'd have had to order from America, as it's a region one US DVD set. I happen to own that set, and I've taken some pictures.

Looks just like the temporary box shown on HMV, huh? Something interesting though is that this new one has only five discs, as opposed to the six my set has. They're both by Anime Legends. The fundamental difference of course is that the new release is UK region. Normally I'd say it will be exactly the same but in a different region, but with the number of discs changed I'm not quite sure. Oh, and I forgot to mention the other release, that was in 2006. This one's special. Outlaw Star remastered, and it looks quite beautiful compared to the normal DVD release. Unfortunately it was only released in Japan, though you might be able to find it with an English dub somewhere.

I think that sums it up. If you decide to get the new DVD release, I'd sure like to know what it's like.

Ahh thanks so much! And pictures too, awesome! I'll probably get the boxset from amazon, the one that's about to be released. I'd like it to be brand new and all.

In a way I'd love to design my own boxset, something pretty and collector special

My sister has the collectors edition of the Lord of the Rings full extended version boxset. It is so beautiful!

The release date has been pushed back to April, apparently D:

I know it's being released by Beez in the UK, the Uk's version of Bandai Ent.

Also, pre-order it at HMV, they usually send stuff out a week early and they're the cheapest

Wait, what? Geeze, just typical. By the way, I've discovered something rather amusing.

They probably just googled 'Outlaw Star' and picked one of the images that came up.

I have the old set with the black box.
Don't know if they ever released that one in the UK.

    RE: Boxsets

To my knowledge, there was never one released in the UK and the only option was import. Though I'll be kicking myself if I'm wrong about this.
