    Meaning of Blue Heaven

I was looking up some Soda Jerk Slang (like old malt shops) and noticed one term was called "Blue Heaven" it referred to "a dose of Bromo-seltzer" and of course I had to share the news! What do y'all think?

I never heard of it before, that is kind of interesting. I know a lot of phrases have more than one meaning and sometimes the meanings are so random but make sense when you hear about them.

It's an interesting theory, but unfortunately that's all it can be. The creator of Outlaw Star, Takehiko Ito, has a strong interest in western culture, such as American films and TV. This can be seen in various references in the manga.

However, from what I can tell so far (though I cannot confirm yet) Blue Heaven doesn't make an appearance in the manga, so if that's the case it'd probably be a reference from somebody at Sunrise because Takehiko Ito had limited influence on the anime.

The term "soda jerk" appears to be known in Japan as Japanese is one of the only other two languages on the Wikipedia article. However, while your theory holds some water, "Blue Heaven" sounds to me like a generic cocktail name.

I think it's more likely to be a reference to the famous song, My Blue Heaven.

Two examples of song references in the manga are Cross Road Blues and My Favorite Things.
Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!"
    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

I've been working on the manga with you for months and didn't notice these. Were they both from Vol. 1?

I thought you'd remember that we discussed them quite recently. (Given how much better your memory is than mine!) Well, not directly, but I showed you the cover of the legendary volume five which is called "My Favorite Things", and about one or two chapters ago (from where we're up to) in the second volume is a chapter called "Cross Road Blues".

Just because those words crossed my eyes doesn't mean I knew they were songs! This is news to me.
