Thread: (Spoilers) What if: Hilda

I was thinking about this topic last night and I would love to hear the communities opinions on this.

What do you think would happen if Hilda survived the trip to retake the XGP? How would the fate of our beloved Gene change, and the rest of the Outlaw Star Crew?

Would Hilda end up betraying the crew, or perhaps selling off the XGP to the highest bidder.

How would her character progress and change through the story and would she rub off on any of the other characters?

I would love to read you guy's thoughts on this subject!

I'm probably not as detailed in my knowledge of the series as others here, but I think you're probably correct in that she may have betrayed the crew because she possibly would have had completely different motives in comparison to the heroes. Thinking about it, many events probably would have gone quite differently if she had survived.

With the XGP technically being her problem, maybe Gene and Jim just take their pay cheque at the earliest opportunity and leave.

I didn't even think of them leaving asap, but given their situation at that point in their story I think that it would be a strong possibility.

My take:

Hilda is an outlaw who makes relationships with folks.

She would not necessarily ditch folks if it wasn't in her interest. Look at her two mates who got killed by the pirates and the Wanzo (ship Mechanic at Blue Heaven).

Plus she had a relationship with Ron MacDougall too.

She would prioritize Melfina over Gene and Jim.

She did say having a crew with both Gene and Jim would be useful. Maybe she also means nice to have company too.. but Hilda does carry the the nickname "Hot Ice Hilda".

She most likely found utility out the two.

I can forsee Gene and Hilda having major issues and differences of opinions and when he would witness the crueller side of Hilda (which he already has when she tried to kill him in Ep.1), Gene would not deal with it anymore and leave with Jim once they are paid out. But Hilda would most likely keep him as a contact for future endeavors.

Hilda would only kill Gene if he was compromised or was working for someone else to get Hilda caught.

Or Hilda and Gene could get into a dysfunctional relationship
