They never really said too much about them but they were always made out to be so Uber powerful. Would anyone else want to know more about them?

I would have loved the sequel to be centered on them doing something with these guys, they got super hyped up.
Alas the sequel they had planned got canned and never had anything to do with this idea anyways.
Yeah, I missed this one. I imagine there are some differences between the anime and the manga when it comes to the Chinese guilds (amongst many other things) so take the information in the manga glossary with a pinch of salt, but it's still useful info. If you want to learn more about these things you should read up on what inspired Takehiko Ito in the first place.
Feng Shui, geomancy (what Hazanko's ship, the "Geomancer" is named after) as well as the yin and yang are a few topics that come to mind. Also, of course, Taoism. Also of note is "Tendo", which is a rough translation of a Chinese religious movement which means "Way of Former Heaven'" and is very popular in Japan. Takehiko Ito created a bit of a mishmash of different ideas from different cultures. The term "ley line" was coined here in Britain (look this topic up) for example, yet the Galactic Leyline is what the Kei seek the most. Oh yeah, there's also the "108 Suns" (sometimes translated as "108 Stars") group in the Guild. Another of Ito's references.
While these topics don't explain the "Tendo King" and "Tempa Emperor" (I'm not actually sure what "Tempa" means) characters directly, they do provide some insight on the Kei and Ban pirates' cultures. We can deduce that since kings and emperors are different monarchs of a similar status and that Hazanko refers to the Leyline's power being great enough to surpass the Tendo King and the Tempa Emperor that the emperor is far more powerful, ruling the Tempa Empire in its entirety.
The Tempa Empire is extremely large; more so than any other region in humanity's sphere of influence by a large margin in most cases. You can see that the Kei Guild is only a part of the Tempa Empire. As for the Ban Guild, they're enemies of the Kei. This is just an assumption (though I will probably be able to confirm this eventually) but I believe the Tendo King has absolute authority of the Kei Guild alone. Because the Tempa Empire is so formidable, its emperor is seen as one of the most powerful men in the galaxy.
That's all I really have at the moment.
Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!"
Jim: "How do you know?"
Gene: "I don't!"
Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"
Good to know thanks everyone
