    Manga Purchases

You can talk about the manga you've bought here. (Obviously Outlaw Star manga.) I was lucky enough to have a friend in China who sent me the Chinese Outlaw Star manga release. I've searched hard and haven't found anybody in the west who has the Chinese manga. It baffles me how they aren't appearing on eBay at all.

I searched even harder today. Spent a few hours using VPNs and other means to find anything I could about Outlaw Star on Chinese websites. Eventually I found a Chinese book eBay-like site, mostly for obscure books. There was the first volume. I've used a service to buy things from Japan for over six years now. Now I've found one in China.

I'm gonna monitor that book site like a hawk (okay, quick check daily) until I get the other volumes. Why bother when I already own them? I usually get duplicates so I can debind a set and scan everything. I wouldn't butcher a book otherwise. Maybe if I somehow get a third set I'll make it a competition prize.

Which manga language sets have you collected? If you haven't already, the manga (Japanese) is one of the few Outlaw Star items I see being sold cheap by Japanese sellers.

Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

This looks really interesting. I like the logo they used here compared to the Japanese version. I don’t own any manga but I think I’m going to start looking around for it. I finally started to read the translations. Pretty awesome so far!!!

I first discovered the Chinese manga unintentionally. A Chinese pen pal who knew I was really into Outlaw Star sent them to me probably in 2010 or 2011. I got another volume a month or two ago from a Chinese eBay-like site. They're extremely hard to find, comparable to finding the Aisha garage kit.
