Thread: Can anyone help me with this picture?

Does anyone know where to find a large high quality version of this Outlaw Star Poster?

It's the main picture they have for Outlaw Star on Myanimelist. I've tried reverse image searching but I can't find a large version. It must exist, somewhere! I've always loved this particular picture so much.

It's the wrong place but you're not far off! I'll move this to the merchandise forum. This is similar to an official wall scroll that I have, but it vertically cuts off a little near Gene's belts if memory serves. I also had a poster that was a Japanese LaserDisc and VHS advertisement and I think it was that image but it had a lot of text over it. I believe it also didn't have that snazzy chromatic version of the logo. Sadly it got torn and I decided to discard it.

While I can't help you, there's a good chance (not saying for sure though) that this is one of the pull-out posters found in magazines like Newtype or Animage. Or it might have been a larger rare poster that I haven't discovered yet.

I'm sure with a more thorough search I can find the rest of it with that kind of resolution, but I'd probably end up finding the cropped image my wall scroll has. In the one you linked, there's extra horizontal space beyond Aisha's hand. I'll see what I can find tomorrow anyway.

When I reverse image search the cropped version you sent, I can find it in huge resolutions! So I feel like the non-cropped one with huge resolution should be out there somewhere...! Anyways, it's no biggie, so don't go out of your way too much to look for it or anything. Thanks, Mantis!

Yep, that's the one on my wall scroll. I'd take a photo of it but I already have one that you can see it in (not very well though)...



One of my favourite Outlaw Star purchases is no doubt this huge (and adorable) Gene/Melfina poster:



Anyhow, at the very least I'll keep my eyes peeled for that poster when I browse Yahoo Japan which I do quite routinely. I'm mad about Outlaw Star merch, so if there's anything I don't have I've gotta snap it up if money allows.

I know this thread is almost year old, but I've also been looking for this poster with no real luck except for this, which sold before I could get my grubby little hands on it. I am looking for the non logo version specifically. It's unfortunate I can't seem to find a high quality scan of this image. If anyone sees one, would you be as so kind as to let me know? (If SeeYouSpaceStarwind has already gotten one.) Thanks! (I'll also keep my eye out for any high quality scans of this image. Not luck yet though.)

Also Mantis that one of gene and melfina is adorable. I've never seen it before.

Ahh... sorry, but that poster was grabbed by a guy called Justin after I recommended doing so. You certainly were a little too late. I'm sure another will pop up sometime. It's a nice poster/wall scroll. The other one that shows Gene holding a naked Melfina is also pretty cool.

Yeah, that Gene and Melfina poster is cute. I managed to swipe another of them some months back.

Not sure if Mantis is gonna have the time to answer you for a little while, but I'll step in since I think I know the answer to this. Yeah, he uses eBay and Yahoo Auctions, and I think he searches the Japanese versions of those sites most regularly. Also keep in mind secondhand Japanese sellers called Mandarake and BOOK-OFF. When I lived in Japan those places were a godsend. Secondhand stuff in Japan is usually really well maintained and manga is dirt cheap. As for the rarer collectibles such as these wall scrolls....may not be cheap but those 4 places are your best bets.

Zemekis pretty much summed it up. I don't have a URL on my phone but if you look at the Outlaw Star reddit you'll see a link I put there to Yahoo Japan Auctions. That link should find most Outlaw Star merch. You just need a "proxy" like Japamart to order items for you.
