    Melfina Sculpture

Not encountered this product myself before so not exactly sure of its origins or any real details about it.

As of posting this it has about 7 hours left on the auction.

Yes, I've also seen this. I get daily e-mails of new auctions from eBay and Yahoo Japan. It's a garage kit. Apparently it's hard work to assemble it if you don't know what you're doing. I didn't and still don't, so I sent the resins to a guy in Mexico who reproduced it and is currently distributing fully painted figures. There's a couple of things to keep in mind. Most Japanese sellers refuse to sell to westerners. It's sad but true. If you use a proxy, in total you'd probably end up paying nearly £85 including the delivery, as opposed to its current listing price of £60. And what you get is a few pieces.

On the other hand, you can order the fully assembled and painted Melfina from that Mexican guy here: https://www.facebook.com/commerce/pr...1711430525166/
$177 or £134 is a lot more, but what you get for your cash is way more. So I'd think about that. I also sent him other garage kits, which I think are Dark Melfina (or Melfia) from the doujinshi and the XGP which is very detailed but a little brittle with all the extra parts, as I learned when the postal service gave me my smashed-on-arrival package, in pieces. (Though I've always known the Royal Mail has a lot of wanker posties.) However, he was kind enough to send me a second XGP request for a discounted price which arrived fine. But Melfina should be fine. He packages them well. I don't think delivery is that much either. I got a lot of merchandise in the time Outlaw Star UK was closed down and Nexus wasn't a thing yet. I ought to post a lot of it here. For instance, the Melfina you're looking at.

Yeah have had that problem previously with JP sellers, one way around the problem is to use a service like TreasureJapan that acts like a proxy buyer but I am sure they use more personal looking accounts so they aren't stopped for being a proxy.

Rather than the Melfina I would be more interested in the XGP from the Mexican guy you linked, looked very nice.

Maybe we can start a post and all post pictures of our various collections.

I used Japamart, and only on one or two occasions has a seller closed an auction because of it. I might check out TreasureJapan, but it would depend on their commission rates, and other extra fees.

Heh, that would probably take multiple threads in my case for good organisation. I could literally take a bath in my merchandise. I do run my Mantis' Merch Monday on most Mondays, so I will still be posting about my collection regularly. I do encourage others to make their own threads, too.

Wonder if its just a common thing in Japan of people closing auctions, never had any issues like that here in the UK or elsewhere. So we all assume its just people hating on foreigners but it could just be a thing that happens a lot in JP auctions regardless.

Haven't really ordered anything for OS in a long time myself, have a pretty small collection. All the OST's including the 2 x Mini disk ones, JP version Manga and Light Novels, Dragon Magazine Art book and then the Bandai Ship + Gene/Mel. Then the only version of the show i currently own is the Blu-ray collection they released a few years ago.

One of things I do want to pickup in the future are the Laser Discs, nothing else has really caught my eye that much. But I did see one of the older DVD box collections when i was browsing that did look pretty cool.

Ah, so I recall. I sent the Outlaw Star kit to him. I wish I could find the Aisha kit to send to him, but it must be extremely rare.

If I saved up the cash I'd probably buy it from someone for at least a couple of hundred dollars, though I realise due to its rarity it might be worth more than that. I guess all you can really do is wait. I set up bookmarks so I check Yahoo! Japan daily for Outlaw Star items. If I ever get it, I'd consider sending it to Carlos if he'd send me an assembled/painted figure free of charge and the original garage kit back to me once he's cast it, or whatever. I think we did that with the XGP. Too bad my red XGP arrived in pieces. I got my custom black one okay, but the small pieces are extremely fiddly and I still haven't put it entirely together. (A couple of small spikes may have even snapped, but I could likely superglue those.)

I should have got that custom Japanese Melfina doll I once saw, but I forgot about it.
