I am not sure where everyone is located but here in America, it seems like football on a professional level (NFL) is losing a lot of fans. More and more people, specially young ones, are turning to the NBA. I read something not too long ago that if the NFL continues down this path, the sport to watch in the US will end up becoming the NBA. It once was the MLB, then NFL took over and not popularity wise, they are just tanking the last few years.

So it would seem to me, that the Super Bowl isn't that big of a deal either. I remember watching it as a kid for the commercials and even those suck now. I have not followed nor watched an entire season of football in a good 4 years now and I think it is for the same reason others are losing interest... It just isn't as fun to get into or watch. College level football seems to be gaining more fans though.
