    Best War Movies

My mother always asks me to download movies for her, and her favorite genre is movies about war. I am running out of options since I think I practically have downloaded every war film IMDB has recommended for me.

Do you guys have any recommendations? It doesn't have to be entirely a war film, any movie that has AK-47's and M-16's on it is good enough. Thanks!

Hmm. "War" is a very broad word, but I'm guessing you mean war action films, and honestly I've not watched that many. Unless the list is ignoring a lot of non-American films, you might have already seen this, but I'll recommend The Wind That Shakes the Barley. It's about an Irish war that started a century ago. Well, to be precise, 99 years.

Gene: "Have faith in me guys, enjoy the ride—you're in good hands. I can handle this. I can do it!"
    Jim: "How do you know?"
    Gene: "I don't!"
    Jim: "I knew it."
Gene: "That's okay. There's a first time for everything!"

Yes, I am referring to war action films. My mother loves this kind of movies, and she sometimes asks me to download one for her. Your suggestion looks interesting, so I'll look it up for download. Thanks, Mantis!

I love watching war films and the best I've seen where:
1.We Were Soldiers starring Mel Gibson and Sam Elliot
2.Platoon starring Charlie Sheen and Johnny Depp.
3.Saving Private Ryan starring Tom Hanks
4.Full Metal Jacket starring Mathew Modine and Vincent d'Onofrio.

But the very best I've seen was the mini series Band of Brothers which ive seen 3x already.

Thanks, man! These are great suggestions. But there's only one problem. My mother has already seen those. But the mini-series Band of Brothers looks interesting. I'll see if I can persuade my mother to be more into series than movies. As for now, what she likes are independent films where she can finish it all off in one sitting.
