Do you limit your TV time?

I read a study that estimated the average American spends 3 hours a day watching television or some form of programming (streaming, Youtube, etc.). That is over 20 hours a week sitting on their butts doing nothing but watching something. I guess everyone is a bit different here but when you consider 20 hours is like having a part time job, that is a bit much!

Do you limit your time watching things?

I don't watch TV and practically use the internet mostly for information gathering. I love consuming content (online) both through videos or via texts in the form of articles. I think it depends on what you watch, like say for example you view things that don't add value to your life. I'm sure it will be such a waste of time.

TV is too politically agenda driven.

I think there isn't much on mainstream TV that is interesting to me. It's all bland, generic programming without any of the edge or real craftsmanship that content on the internet often has in a much greater amount.

In that regard, I do not watch television. I don't have cable myself, and I prefer either to watch my DVDs or to scour the internet for something fun.

I included alternative entertainment as well here as I mostly watch stuff on my computer now. I think people who watch TV on a regular basis these days are 50+ in age. In my family, my mom is the only one who watches TV daily. I have a TV but only use it for background sound.

Also I do agree, a lot of mainstream shows and commercials are WAY too much about politics. They have always been driven by them since the 70's but programming is far worse now with it.
